alright it'll be tough, and i do not think you can drop it under 3 minutes in 4-7 days, but you need to be dedicated, try running a bunch of 400's and a bunch of 200's, race pace, splitting them up in between easy days of 2-4 miles... also, in the 800, the real start of the race isn't in the beginning-it's at the end. the last 300 meters of the race is probably the most important, start your kick there and go all-out at about the 200 meter mark.

Run the 400s as suggested on one day, the next day run 3-4 mile intervals at a 6:30 - 7:00 pace. Do another day of 400s, then another day of miles. That will "overtrain" you for the 800 distance and let you kick better at the end of the 800.

Do some pace 400's do as 2 sets of 3 or it depends on how good of shape you are on.Try and keep your times as close as possible in all of these 400's.If you run a pace of around 1:25 a lap then your golden. You can do it and good luck and run like a cut throat savage

For your health you should drink lots of water and keep Stretching. Also try to eat plenty of carbs the day before the race.

When u are racing don't try and lead the pack, try and stay near the 2nd or 3rd runner on the first lap. Then move up on the last 200m. Good Luck to ya!
