Try walking more when you would normally not be active.
Walk up stairs instead of taking the elevator, park your car far from the store, walk on your lunch break. Try walking when you have a small errand to do nearby. Instead of meeting friends for lunch, try socializing while using your local walking or hiking trails.
Walking is great because you do not need any special equipment except for comfortable shoes.
Also, you can always take 5 minutes when you wake up (or at work) to do a few simple strengthening exercises, like squats, push-ups, lunges, and crunches.
