I'm not saying it wasn't INSPIRED by your God. But it's not Gods word because he didn't write it. So why put so much faith in a BOOK. Shouldn't it be about Christ? I just don't understand why there is so much debate over a book. And why hasn't God spoken since? No more additions? He doesn't speak anymore? I just don't get it.

How could tell them what to say when most were simply letters to each other? I am not disputing that God might have inspired the book. I'm not saying that its wrong. What I am disputing is the fac that its become so central to the faith that churches split over it. Its just a book!

AND why is the OT included when Jesus said it no longer counted?

The ten commandments were based on the 42 confessions and denials. Moses wasn't the only one who climbed the mountain and God spoke to them. Check out Gilgamesh. So no they shouldn't be displayed. They aren't original.

I don't get why the bible only chronicles Jesus's death, birth, and a couple years in between. Was he only divine in the beginning and end of his life??? And what did all those other people (noah, moses, ect) REALLY have to do with Christianity. Perplexing to me.

How could you write a letter for the president of the united states if you were just a secretary?

Just because a letter was not made by his hand, doesnt mean its not his letter. That is logically invalid. That would be like saying if you were blind and had someone write a letter on your behalf, that it wasnt your letter. It has all the ideas and things you wanted communicated, it was simply penned by someone not you and that doesnt matter.

The Bible isnt a book, its a volume of books. And our faith is in God. We believe God, therefore we believe the Bible and the holy spirit confirms it. It is about Christ!

Theres so much debate because it is very complex and we are very opinionated and stubborn people.

It is best stated the Scripture ended with the apostles because they were eyewitnesses of Christ, and men who we KNOW were inspired by the Holy Spirit. God does still speak but in a different fashion and its the same message. That is why Jesus told us so many times to preach his word, tell people the good news, and do the things he had done.

Books have power. No matter who the writer is a book is going to strike a chord with someone (look at the following Mein Kampf has garnered) . The fact that the Bible seems to strike the most powerful chord with the most people says to me that it hits closest to home with it's messages and the hope that it offers. If people decide that they don't want to buy into that because it's ideals conflict with their choice of lifestyle or for whatever other reason then thats their decision.

As for no more additions, well the Bible itself actually says there is more to be written. As for God not speaking any more, don't assume that because you can't hear him he isn't speaking. As for shouldn't the book be about Christ. Why do you say that? Although Christs chapter in the Bible is important it's not just about that it's also about the history behind everything that validates Christ (and God) and who he was and where he came from and it's also about the future and what's in store for us.

We don't say a book is written by a pen do we, we give credit to the author, the one behind the ideas and the guts of the narrative. The pen is just the instrument used to get the job done.

Prophets and disciples physically wrote the books that were to become the bible. These were people called upon by Him to deliver a message. He, in this way continues to speak. You don't think that God spoke ol' English, do you? What keeps people stuck in the mud is that they ignore the message to debate the text. The message has never changed, just as God hasn't changed. Everything a human needs to know about his existence is in the book if he would read it. And yes, the book is about Christ. He is in it from beginning to end. He was there in the Old and revealed himself in flesh in the New. "Let US make man" (Gen. 1:26). The bible was put together over 3500 years. That should be long enough. You have to know also that a thousand years to us is but a moment of time for God. Imagine dad writing a note for chores. Then he goes to the store. He comes back home. So in a way God gave us instructions and will return home shortly. Be ready.

Good point. However, many theologists and christians will always tell you that it was inspired by what they refer to as the Holy Spirit. I am not a theologist, I have only studied some of the fundamentals of religions, but I know that christians believe that the Bible is now complete. What I usually ask myself is- What about the other books that have been left out? Who decided that they were not inspired by God. Many of them seem to have the same message in them as the books that were included in the Bible. Were these people who decided also supposedly "inspired" by God. Ultimately, I think that Jesus was a very good person who taught very good things. The Bible has good messages in it, despite whether or not a person believes in it being divinely inspired. Good luck.

The Bible wasn't just inspired by God. The Bible, in a since was written by God, because the people who wrote it, wrote only what they were told to write by God.

Also, I agree that it should be about Christ, but where do learn about Christ? From the Bible. This is why people spend their entire lives defending the bible, because if one spot is wrong then the entire book and all that is written in it is invalid.

You don't understand because you aren't Christian. God speaks everyday through many things. When you wake up to a new day, when you're happy, when you get through hard times it is all part of God's caring and loving plan. The Bible was inspired my God and therefore is Holy. People that were actually there wrote it and the agreement of incidents all over the Bible provides it's validity. Belief in God is key to believing and trusting the Bible.

very sturdy question, this continually comes up when I refer to my husband whilst he says it incredibly is the word of God. the actual words of God are the ten Commandments. And the words of Jesus interior the recent testomony. something is poems from human beings some unknown authors , letters to particular human beings and church homes, visions and objectives. additionally memories of miracles and human beings very own journey that are in there to study approximately God and Jesus I unquestionably have a project with human beings asserting it incredibly is the spectacular word of God. If that became so why did no longer the bible drop out of the sky like the ten commandments that got here down. additionally why are not all the different letters and scriptures that the disciples wrote interior the bible. in case you rather have self belief each and every word is what God mentioned then you definately ought to stay with all of it no longer %. and decide God bless. B.I.B.L.E. basic training. in the previous. Leaving. Earth.

The entire Bible is about Christ. All of the history of the Jewish people culminates in the birth of Christ. Man is lost (our condition) - the law is given (we see our sin, etc.).

The end of the Bible is his triumphant return to earth (hasn't happened yet) It is a complete picture.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would come after he (Jesus) left. Jesus' death had reconciled us to God and now we can receive His Holy Spirit (that is what born-again means).

So, God speaks to us personally by His Spirit - but the Bible is complete.

The people who wrote the Bible weren't perfect, no, but God is. He told them what to write and His Word is flawless.
Check this out.. I wrote this for MySpace..

The reason I came to believe that the Bible is the infallible and inspired Word of God is pretty simple.. I tested it, and it passed:

Is it scientifically accurate? In a time when science knew nothing, the Bible somehow knew about ocean currents, mountains at the bottom of the sea, the jet stream, the expansion of the universe, and the roundness of the earth. Science thought there were 6,000 stars in the universe, but the Bible called them "innumerable". Other "holy books" thought the earth was held on the backs of turtles, elephants, or Atlas. The Bible said that the earth hangs on nothing. It is suspended in space.

Is it historically accurate? The Dead Sea Scrolls show us that our modern day translation is extremely well preserved, just as Jesus promised. It hasn't changed. Plenty of sources outside of the Bible verify such things as Jesus' crucifixion and the empty tomb, the brutal killing of early Christians (because they had seen the resurrected Christ and dared to believe), the worldwide flood, and basically everything that ever happened to Israel. Speaking of the flood, the Bible says it happened about 4,400 years ago and wiped out all life. It's interesting to note that the oldest living trees are about 4,400 years old. The oldest reef is about 4,400 years old. 4,400 years ago all of the ocean waters would have been fresh, not salty. And applying the average growth rate to the 4 couples that came off Noah's ark, 6 billion is the number we would expect after 4,400 years.

Is it prophetically accurate? If even one Bible prophecy can be proven wrong, then the whole faith is false. But every prophecy has now been fulfilled except for those that are reserved specifically for the future, the "last days". Jesus was born, lived, and was crucified exactly when and how the Old Testament foretold. The temple was destroyed as Jesus prophesied. Then Jerusalem was taken over as Jesus prophesied. Because of disobedience the Jews were scattered among the nations as prophesied in Deuteronomy. Then Israel was restored as prophesied in Jeremiah, and the Jews began to return to Israel and it blossomed as prophesied in Zechariah. It became a nation in just one day (in 1948) as prophesied in Isaiah. Knowledge and travel have increased as prophesied in Daniel. Mankind is capable of destroying all life as prophesied in Zechariah (the neutron bomb melts its victims, as foretold in Zechariah). The possession of Jerusalem is at the center of international turmoil, also prophesied in Zechariah. The fact that God once flooded the earth is being denied, as prophesied in 2 Peter.

Check it out for yourself. This barely scratches the surface. And if all of this is true and was known before man could have known it, then what other conclusion is there? God inspired these fallible men to write his infallible Word, because he wants to be known. This is how he has made himself known. Today you have a choice. Will you take him seriously, or will you reject him again?

Mohammed invented a book. Is his religion invalidated then?

the Bible is about Christ. how do you not see that? Isaiah, Zechariah and the Psalms all prophesy about Christ, and then the NT is all about Him.

God's spoken plenty of times lately. you just ignore it.

no more additions because the Bible needs no more additions. the Holy Spirit knows everything that should be in there, is.
