It sounds like backsliding but it also makes me ask whether or not you need more intellectual meat for your spirit than the church is giving you. You don't want to feel like this - good. Also you find praying very difficult. You can't wait to get back to feeling "good" or "right with God" before you start praying again. Do it today. You asked God to show you what to do. He will tell you to pray. We pray on our knees because we only meet God when we are at the foot of the cross. At our lowest. He says My strength is made perfect in your weakness.
You have had an easy life perhaps with not too many deprivations? The church as a social institution is not important. Jesus Christ is - and He is what you are missing. You need to study the word but you also need to be alert against thinking that it is ok just to walk away - and nothing will happen. I think the Devil will do anything he can to tell you that you have somehow "grown up" and you don't "need all that religious stuff" any more. Then you may meet some non believers who are really nice people and then it all just gets somehow left behind. Until one day when you realize you need the Lord. That pretty well happened to me over a number of years. It would be fair to say you need your spiritual batteries recharging. Who at your church makes you think? Who do you see as wise? Go and speak with him or her and tell them. Your pastor has responsibility to God for your spiritual protection. Talk to him. I know this is important to you or you would not have put it into a question in a public forum. God loves you - but maybe your religion has taken the place of the Spirit of God. I have zero idea of your denomination but if they have a prayer meeting then they will probably be evangelical. Ask them to pray for you because you are going cold. It is not unusual at all but it would be great to save you all the trouble you might otherwise find yourself in.

Being lazy. I did the same thing and sort of walked away. But when you feel like your regular way of life amounts to not much. Mind you, I was still a Christian. But I came back to church. It is lonely out there. At first, I went back to church to go tithe regularly as the Bible commands. When that wasn't enough, I volunteered to serve the church. When that isn't enough, I intend to inquire of God and see about going into deeper waters and expanding my personal ministry with God. Perhaps I will go to another church that needs me, maybe I will volunteer with my local community to feed and shelter the poor and spread the Gospel. The point is you have to grow.
As a mature Christian, you need CHALLENGES, not to be comfortable all the time. You need to be in situations that test your faith, not simply confirm it all the time. You need to confront demons and stand up using God's Word that you know and read. Perhaps God is calling you to something higher, or it is your old sin nature regaining ground again.
Get off the beach and get in the water. God has taught you to swim, so use it.
Pull people from you church in to this and ask them to make you accountable. Set goals like read the Bible from cover to cover over the course of a year, and pray regularly.
Ultimately, all things are up to you. You must take charge.

You say you have been "brought up in church"... but you do not say you ever made your own relationship with God... Just because you have been "in Church" dose not mean you are of The Church... this is not any kind of put down... and you are not alone in your feelings. many who have been "brought up" in church come to feel as you do... some go on to find their way to God... and others do not...
Do I think the devil is playing with you... very likely... are you being lazy... very likely... when you get lazy the devil can get to you... but if you are not truly of The Church you have no protection from satan... but... satan would not be interested in you unless you were actualy closer to God than to him...
is this you.... All who come to God in The Way He prescribes receive His free gift of Salvation. Those become part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.... If not... I invite you to visit my website... It might give you some idea as to how you should proceed... If you have any questions concerning The True Christian Faith, and might not want to ask at you Church right now... feel free to contact me through my site or by YA email... here is the address for my site... http://www.mikesfaith.com

hey, first of all what the pastor or whoever said out loud to everyone in the room, "One of our prayers as already been answered", when you walked into the room, purposely singling you out was wrong to do so in front of anybody. Secondly, if you are a christian remember the bible says that you belong to Jesus and nothing can take you out of his hand, so put the thought of going to hell out of your mind. Finally, if you are finding it difficult to read your Bible or going to church then your right up their with every other christian. Just pray to God that he will give you the strength and desire to do it.
Last of all, since your twenty I am going to make the assumption that you are in college. Try joining a christian club at your school (maybe you already tried, this is just an suggestion).

Don't be concerned. God may be trying to lead you away from legalism. The main relationship is with god, not the church or the people there. Just keep living life and God will bring you out on the other end a different and more real Christian.

Satan is always roaming around like a lion trying to destroy and consume. Go hiking in the wilderness get out in the quiet with God and see his love, the complexity of his creation the stars in the sky the earth below the spiritual 5th dimension were angels dwell the fact that we walk on the breath of the earth for a short time but then possibly will rest in a state of slumber in the sea of life awaiting the resurection. How about all the souls in the belly of the earth that we walk around every day. Thereis just so much to learn and in christ we will learn for eternity.

I have a friend who is in a similar situation. He was raised up in a christian home, went to church, and to a christian school. Once he moved out, he couldn't find the time for church or God, so he decided he must not believe in christianity anymore. Recently he has come to a point where he wonders what happened and sometimes talks about going to hell (he is very serious about it). My feelings on this issue, is that what you believe should always be the MOST important thing to you. If a person truly believes in something, they should never give up on it. I would recommend that you spend some time to self-reflect and decide what you truly believe. Shouldn't it come easy to you. It does for me. I wish you the best luck.

We all feel like the way you do at times.
We have an old nature to fight and it doesn't want you reading your bible or spending time in church.
Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, it either one or another.
Stop walking in the Spirit and you'll act carnal.
Stop walking carnally and you'll be more spiritual.
we all drift away from God and when we do, we act less spiritual.
If you continue reading your bible and going to church God will bless, you will be close to Him again.
Do the natrual and God will do the supernatural.
James 4:7-8
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded

Satan definitely wants you in Hell. The question is this.
What are you going to do about it?
Now I ask you these questions:
When was the last time you read the word AND meditated on what you read?
When was the last time you gave tithes and offerings in church?
When was the last time you prayed, prayed, prayed, prayed, prayed, prayed, etc.
When was the last time you attended church?
And when was the last time you testified and/or witnessed to others about what the Lord has done for you and what he is doing for you?
