There is much we take on faith, but the prophecies of the OT have come true. Example, when Alexander the Great arrived in Jerusalem, the priests showed him the prophecy from Daniel that was written like 200 years before about him coming. And so on and so forth. You know about carbon dating. How is it that these prophecies (some in amazing detail, like the fall of Babylon) have come true in the exact way that is described? Coincidence?

God does not confirm His prophecies for the believer but for the non-believer. We know by faith that they are going to happen but those without faith do not believe unless they see.

Comfirmed and fullfilled prophecies lend obvious validation to the faith placed in the prophetic.
