My 16 year old decided to do this without informing me, only so I could guide her as to how to... Now she gets up this morning with really bright orange/bronze hands, arms and feet. She is just sick and cannot go out anywhere. AND IT'S SUMMER. She is a very light complected girl with blond hair and desperately wants a tan. I just never wanted her to tan in a bed for safety reasons. Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Elaine

You go girl. I praise you for keeping her out of the tanning beds! Have you tried rubbing alcohol? They actually make self tanning remover now, you can get it at Walmart even. I guess they realized how many of us make these mistakes. Does she look like a OOMPA LUMPA, you know the orange guys off of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory? hehe just joking. Good luck and once again, way to go ! Stick with your gut on the tanning beds. I read an article in Cosmo or Glamour one just last month about an early 20's Miss America contestant that was diagnosed with skin cancer caused by years of tanning in t beds and has had to have numerous surgeries and has scars all over her now because of this. You are a good mom ! Kudos.

Believe it or not, it only takes a couple of days to wear off. I remember doing the same thing t myself, many years ago! I was 15 and my mom didn't bother to deal with makeup or tanning as long as I didn't walk around looking like a hooch. And who knows, even if you had helped, it could still have failed. just wait a couple of days and all will be well. She's still a smart cookie for not using a tanning bed.
