If your doctor has recommended it they should be able to tell you where you can get one and how it works .I would also love to know because my son also suffers with acne Why don't you get in touch with your GP again and ask him to explain it to you

Potassium Alum is an inorganic salt and is also known as Potash Alum.
However, I found when I had acne that a dab of toothpaste on every spot made them clear up quicker.

Well well 35 years and I have never heard of that one, nor of any other doctor advising it! I couldn't even get it to google, let alone find in in any of my text books.
Usual medical managements are degreasers and topical or oral antibiotics. If he really knows what he is talking about, perhaps he should have told you what it is and how it works.

It is supposed to work but theres only one way to find out and thats to get one. You could ask at your local pharmacy or a health foods shop- they might have a good idea. If not ring your GP and ask him where he would suggest.
