For the most part, jealousy. Of the world's two billion Christians more than 90% are Catholic. They have some political clout in this country - certainly in the south - but are elsewhere almost non-existent. Primarily they are poorly-educated working-class people from small communities; they have produced no significant thinkers, artists, writer, anything worthwhile, really. "By their fruits shall you know them". They are a barren off-shoot of Protestantism, breeding only hatred and bringing Christianity into disrepute. Atheists pretend to hate them, but actually they love them as an easy target, and that they are, incessantly espousing hatred, intolerance, superiority, false beliefs that strike mainstream Christians as downright weird, plus being socioculturally locked in the 1920's. They have wild theological arguments against the Church,my fave the one that the Whore of Babylon in Revelations in supposedly a reference to the Blessed Virgin. Why,if that is an accurate (lol!) interpretation the Church would have included Revelations in the canon they do not explain - or why Christ would have had the "Whore of Babylon" for a mother. Basically, they are a disgrace to Christianity; they will never have a following beyond the ranks of the the poor and ill-educated,and meanwhile they see a Catholic Church still respected and powerful throughout half the world. Of course they are jealous. I pity them,or would if they weren't so destructive and anti-social. And remember: for a lot of people this vocal fringe element is all they know of Christianity. Just imagine how a Catholic feels about that.

I haven't any situation with evangelicals. was one, in certainty. If I disliked them en masse, then i could be alongside with some contributors of my very own nuclear kinfolk as properly as numerous lifelong acquaintances. no longer gonna ensue. (exciting notice right here: when I switched over to Catholicism i did no longer get any flak from a single considered one of them, and we are conversing very almost 30 adults attending a great spectrum of nondenominational church homes.) it incredibly is evangelicals -- a number of them, besides -- who seem to have a situation with Catholics. Edit: Spitfire, you're thoroughly clueless approximately Catholics' courting with Christ. and you're making all evangelicals look extremely stupid.

I am an Evangelical Pentecostal and have many ex-Catholic friends that attend our church. We do not dislike Catholics but we do believe their doctrine is flawed.

The bible teaches us that Jesus died for our sins and because of Jesus' death and Resurrection, we can have a relationship with God though Jesus because of this. Jesus teaches us to pray to the father, the Apostles teach us to pray to Jesus.

No where in the bible does it teach us to pray to Mary or the Apostles or any Saint for healing or forgiveness. Only God can do these things through pray and worship of his Son, Jesus.

Catholics, though they claim to be the church that Christ founded (see source below) have twisted the Bible to suit the Pope and people's desires. Many of the teachings are not in the Bible, the hierarchy of the Catholic church is not in the Bible, they include books in the Bible that are not inspired, etc.

Many Catholics, once they read the Bible for themselves, do realize that they are not following Christ. The Catholic religion is a man-made religion that only has a shred of Bible as its guide.

I do not dislike Catholics as people, but their teachings and claims to Christianity are disturbing since they make up the largest population of what the average person calls "Christians".

Christ founded HIS church and it bears his name, the church of Christ.

in about 700 ADE the church split into the Orthodox and RCC. I THINK, I'm not sure the next split was Luther. I DO know that the Puritans split because of the "corruption". A lot of Protestants came to American. A lot of America religion stems from Protestants. Tada! They don't like Catholics.

I don't know which ones your referring to. Evangelicals look at the sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church and the non-biblical papal decrees. The Bible says it is the ultimate authority and to test everything in light of scripture. "Is it in the Bible? Where?"

Christians love Catholics, but are like David in the Psalms when he says, "Oh Lord how I love thy law, but I hate every false way."

Consider that every false way takes people away from Christ and eternal salvation and send them screaming into Hell or the Lake of Fire after judgment. Consider that the love God puts in the heart of Christians makes it impossible for them to keep silent about this because they want to warn everyone outside of Christ of their danger.

Jesus proclaimed Himself as the only way - John 14:6 - All other ways are false or Jesus is a liar. There can be no compromise on this issue. Catholicism denies Christ as the only way to Heaven among other doctrines and practices that deny scripture. They believe it is Christ plus good works or purgatory that will save them, and that is totally against scripture. Christ alone is sufficient to save anyone who will put their faith and trust in Him. Nothing can be added to what He did on Calvary.

Christians love the people caught up in this deception, but we do not love the lies that keep many of them from seeing the truth of who Christ is and what He has done for them.

I do not know other than it is the enmity between the woman and the Devil. The early Apostles did not hate and deride John for his devotion to Mary and his Gospel is richer deeper and more poetic than the others. In fact they were in awe of John. I don't understand why the jealousy of Catholics. It is certainly not Christian like but they pride themselves on their Christianity.

Sorry, but Christ did not found a church. He was trying to reform Judaism. Paul started Christianity with the Jesus Movement. Check your history.
