No, and the studies done support me...and that's even if you ignore all of the terrorism and other acts of violence committed in the name of one god or another.

Of course, we are already without a god, as none exists nor ever did, but we would also be far better off without the religions claiming to be based on one.

A far greater percentage of incarcerated criminals are religious than in the general population. That alone should answer your question. Of course, the funny part is that many are incarcerated for victimless "crimes" such as prostitution created by religion!

Don't think so. A lot of crimes are committed by god believing people. I, as an atheist, don't go around committing crimes. It has to do with knowing the difference between right and wrong.

Also by the way:
In some religions it is OK to commit crimes because as long as you repent just before you die, it is all good. You get a free ticket into heaven right?

No I think there would be less crime, because people couldnt blame the murder of thier children on "demons" and the "devil". Or in one womans case: "Lashuan Harris believed she was carrying out Gods orders and sending her children to heaven when she dropped her three young boys into San Francisco Bay " - these are only a few examples of crimes that people do because of their belief in religion.....

Here's an article from the University of Conneticut Health Centre: http://www.uchc.edu/ocomm/newsarchive/news04/dec04/religiosity.html

Religion allows for people to live in a fantasy world their whole lives, when that fantasy world clashes with the real world it can have dire concequences, this is why I think religion as a whole is bad for society, people with religious beliefs tend to discard critical thinking for whishful thinking, which in some cases can be quite deadly.

What suprises most people is that many of the people who profess a religion are really wolves in sheep's clothing and or complete hypocrites. Satan is the god of this world. Most people claim a popular religion, but actually worship this world and it's god. So if the question is do people who truly believe in God commit more crime? NO. Religion (membership in club) doesn't change a thing. "BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN." (Matthew 15:9)

The word your looking for there is "are", not "our". Lost should only be capitalized if it is at the beginning of a sentence. "Yes" should be capitalized since it's the beginning of a sentence. "I" should also be capital since you are using it as a pronoun.

Other then that your two sentence thought is very well written out, and seemingly easy to understand! Good for you!

As for your question, I think you'll find most prison inmates do believe in one God or another. If lack of belief lead to crimes, our prisons would be full of atheists. Thanks for playing!

No. Crusades, wars, genocide. All of those have been committed by religious fanatics.

And people lived without the Abrahamic god just fine before Constantine started spreading it across the world, so it's not Christianity that spreads peace and morality. Morals are not a byproduct of religion. Morals are a byproduct of rational thought.

actually, its the people in religion that have committed the most crimes in the history of humanity...

Here's the Solution for religion:

Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.

<<<<<<< UnConditional Love is the only answer >>>>>>>

Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.

"religion is Spiritual fraud";
"religion is the Worse invention of humanity";
"Universal Truth has eliminated religion from Spirituality",
quotes of Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.

"When a person is freed of religion, they have a better chance to live a normal and wholesome life." S. Freud

Here are some of my quotes:

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
Freedom of religion is Freedom from religion.

atheists = all the people in religion = all the ignorant fundamentalists = all the cults/superstitions = paganism = wicca = xians = homosexuals/lesbians = skinheads = politicians = lawyers.

I think you mean "without belief in God".

Statistically, no. In the U.S. atheists are actually underrepresented in prison. A greater percentage of inmates are believers than in the general population.

Worldwide, the picture looks the same. Church attendance and belief are quite a bit lower in continental Europe than in the U.S., yet their crime rates are lower almost across the board, particularly in homicide and other violent crime. Interestingly, they are also lower in other measures of societal ills, such as teen pregnancy, STDs, etc.

You're wrong. And there is scientific proof to back up my claim. Atheists make up an disproportionate minority in prisons. As a collective whole, they do not commit crimes at the same rate as Christians and Muslims.

Not necessarily. The idea of morality isn't always born out of religion. People can treat each other with respect and not commit crimes without having to believe in a god.
