I can assure you that personality will not change :) He may calm down a little (hormones are gone!), but I have never ever seen or heard of an extreme change. Chances are... if he plays rough now, he still will after his neuter! Neutering doesn't necessarly change his enthusiam with playing... just stops the agressive playing.

I would like to thank you for being a responsible pet owner and getting your little guy neutered! He will be healthier (less prone to cancer, yay!) and live longer because of the neuter!

Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions before his big day!

NOTE: Neutering does NOT make dogs less playful at all!!

Dog's personalities don't always change but a lot of the time their playfulness goes away. I just got my 8 month old chihuahua spayed and so far she is still really playful (even though she's not supposed to play right now because of her stitches). Once he's neutered, watch his diet very closely so he does not get over weight and make sure you take him on daily walks as well as play with him a lot so he does not lose his energetic personality.

Probably not. At 6 months your dog is probably sexually mature and any behavior that was originally associated with hormones of a sexually mature dog are probably learned behavior by now. At 6 months you dog should be in a puppy class. This will teach you about dog behavior and how to teach and train your dog. This will head off many behavior problems you might have in the future.
