I don't see any questions directed towards liars, murders, adulterers, idol worshipers, etc. Why do we often see people condemning homosexuality and even people saying it's one of the worst sins, but we don't see any other so-called sins condemned?

What is it about homosexuality that makes it worse than any other sin? I thought all sin was equal in the eyes of god according to your bible. So what makes being gay the target of your ire? Back it up with scripture where Jesus (in the new testament) says himself that homosexuality is a sin and/or the worst sin.

Thanks.

It's not.

1. The Bible does not say that people who commit the sin of sex with someone of the same sex are going to hell. It's simply not in there.

2. Same sex interaction is a sin according to both the Old and New Testaments. However, it is not a special kind of sin. It's a sin, and everyone sins. The key when it comes to Christianity is not refraining from sin (because nobody can do that) but redemption FROM sin. Ecclesiastes 7: 20 There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.

3. One of the greatest sins ever is the sin of pride, and taking the place of God as the one who judges people's entitlement to redemption. NOBODY KNOWS WHOSE NAMES ARE WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.

4. Matthew 7:1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

5. John 8:7 "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

The truth is that many people commit many sins - stealing, lusting, sex outside of wedlock, failing to keep the Sabbath day holy, not honoring one's father and mother, envying and coveting -- and yes, sex with others of the same sex or groups of people -- but those last offenders are no less entitled to redemption than other sinners. Everyone is a sinner. And, it is not your place to cast stones. It is not anyone's place to judge their worth to God.

My friends God expects Christians to speak the truth in love. Evil triumphs because those who know what is right choose to be silent so as not to offend. We now live in a sin sick society because of our obvious silence. We should not compromise with sin. God hates sin but he loves the sinner. We can overcome sin only through the power of the Holy Spirit producing change in us. 1 John 1:9 1 John 2:1

Homosexuality is an easy target because most people aren't tempted by it. It's a lot easier to criticize something you aren't tempted by. Many people find the thought downright disgusting, and don't understand how anyone could be or want to be that way. I'm a Christian who does not agree with homosexuality, but you are absolutely right, there is way too much focus put on it. It is not the sin of all sins. It's no worse than sex outside of marriage or divorce, when do you ever see people protesting that? Rarely, cuz many more people struggle with and are tempted by those things than homosexuality. I guess they rationalize that if it's a common sin alot people deal with, it must not really be that bad.

It's not that it's a worse sin its just that this seems to be a very hot, and touchy topic right now. Homosexuality is a sin because God ment for sex and BF/ GF relationships in general to be between a man and a woman. Not a guy and a guy or two girls. You are right, all sin is the same. It's society who make it a big deal. Plus with the media, we have kind of become numb to murders and such.

The bible says homosexuality is an abomination, but the same word is used for eating pork or shellfish.... hmmm... I think there are many christians who eat those.

No, I don't think homosexuality is worse. Everyone should just be grateful that Jesus came, otherwise NONE of us would have any hope of being as righteous (or what have you), as we should be.

I am a christian and i judge no one............
I didn't hang on a cross and die for you.....
I haven t the right to judge any one only God does..........
Just like my granny who stood for over thirty years for my dad to be saved and delivered from alchoel. It almost destroyed him and hurt us terribly in the process.
Daddy had a close personal encounter with Jesus.
Daddy donst drink anymore........
That hurt him..... God doesn't want us to do things that hurt outselves.................Sin is Sin just like you said.
God cam deliver me,judge me and correct me not man.
Everyone has issues in life.. If you or I are wrong. God will tell us. Believe me you ! He has got our number. If you are wrong in your heart of hearts you know the truth and the truth will set you free.
People will debate this now till Jesus comes.
All That Iknow is that I am his. If I am wrong or I miss him. He will find me.
My kids have disappointed me a time or two growing up. I didn't throw them away! i loved them stood by them and had some tough love a time or too.
Loves knows the truth and loves you anyway.
The bible is a love letter and a blueprint to live our lives. You got to read the whole book and ask God for understanding.
I wish people would quit judging others and judge their selves!

The most vehemently anti gay people are probably those who recognise homosexual urges in themselves.
Jesus never specifically singled out homosexuality as a sin. Just catch-all references to sin.
We'd sure know about it if he ever had singled it out, in fact we'd never hear the end of it from Westboro baptists et al.

It is not.

Sin is sin.

It is man that likes to "Quantify" sins. In actuality, it is more a catholic concept, than a christian one. It has to do with the acts of penance they have to do after going to confession. If you need a scripture where it says in the bible that homosexuality is a sin, I would say to look at the book of Romans, Chapter 1, verse... say 26 through the end of the chapter.

But be careful not to quantify sin. Sin is sin in God's eyes. Even the dwelling on the thought of committing a particular sin is the same as doing it, according to scripture. And all of it is the breaking of the rules, so to speak. Break one, break all, it is all the same...

Hope this helps...

Um -- I didn't know there was an hierarchy of sin. Nor did I know homosexuality was a sin. There are homosexual church members and homosexual church officials. And, as a percentage of the population is homosexual, that is as it should be and only reflects demographics.
FYI - homosexuality also exists in the animal kingdom, so it isn't exclusive to homo sapiens. Is it a sin for a male dog to 'do' or to try to get it on, with another male dog?

Homosexuality is no better or worse of a sin than any other sin. The difference is everyone agrees that lying and murdering is a sin. But people who support homosexuality don't want to admit that it's a sin; they claim it's ok. But because it is a sin, nonetheless, it becomes the subject of heated debates.

9Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

10Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.
