its summer and i have only been out of school for like seven days and i already dont know what to do with myself!

im stuck at home and usually no one else is home
so i dont have anyone to talk to, etc.

im not really sure what my friends are doing...
but it doesnt matter because i cant drive yet

im tired of just sitting on my computer or watching tv everyday
IM SOO BORED
any ideas of things i can do?

i just really want to live every day to the fullest and feel like each day has some meaning - and im definitely not accomplishing that

im really scared that the whole summer is going to be monotonous and the same
i dont want to waste my summer so please help me!

Why not:

-use the Internet to look up your family history? Start at familysearch.org or www.rootsweb.net (and talk to your parents/grandparents to get info)

-learn a new language? start at www.byki.com and look for Before you know it Lite. It's a free program you can download and begin learning a language of your choice. If you like it, you might get your parents to purchase one of their full programs. I'd be thrilled to help my daughter take on a course of study.

-volunteer? If you can get to Habitat for Humanity or your local soup kitchen, see if they need help. You might also talk to your church about opportunities if you go to a church.

-learn to knit or crochet and make blankets for either people in nursing homes or babies who were stillborn? Here's a list of several organizations that might take your crafts: http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/charity-links.html

-volunteer to tutor a younger student who is struggling? The summer is a great time for these kids to catch up. Talk to your parents about this. You can spend free time making up games and activities for the kids you tutor. It would really help the other kid and it would make you feel great!

You could also start a hobby, like stamp collecting, backyard birding or painting.

Good luck! :)

P.S. If you are over 12, you could take the Red Cross's babysitting course and maybe look after a child who is younger than you. You might make a bit of money and you'd be helping out a family who might have to leave their younger (8-10) child alone because school is out.

well,i really dont know how old u r,probably below 18,but never mind....summer time is the time to develop ur hobbies,i am sure being a girl u wud be greatly interested in some sort of art like painting n stuff, try that it will atleast take 2-4 hrs of urs daily,u can decorate ur room wid different kinds of art pieces,or may be u can join some sort of hobby classes, where u can learn sports,or music(if u r interested),or may be learn cookin, once in a while.or the best solution is go on a vacation 2 some distant place,go for shopping, visit ur relatives,i am sure after reading this,u will have a mindblowing summer, dont u agree

Take a nice walk every morning
Volunteer to do some of the household chores
Get to the library - checkout some books and read some each day.
Learn a new skill, or practice an old hobby such as sewing, painting, knitting or beading.
Budget and limit your computer time and TV Time.

What about finding a hobby? There are plenty of summer activities that are free and will allow you to do something fun with other kids. Maybe try the YMCA or boys and girls club. Look in your local papers or city and county websites. Volunteer at a park or hospital or something like that. There's nothing more meaninful than helping people who need it! Good luck and have fun. Don't take yourself too seriously! :)

Number 1, Get off that computer, or at least limit your time on there. Get out of that house, walk to a park, mall, friends house, you can waste away alot of days or even weeks that quickly turn to months , glued to a pc, get out around real people, or you will find pc is the only life you have . Get ciculating. I know thye are addictive, Ive had friends tell me they tried to call to invite me to a party, etc, only to recieve a busy single. After awhile they gave up , dont let that happen to you, get back in contact.

Walk to the library and take out some books to read, join a summer sport or go swimming at the local pool.
