Veteranarians do not know jack about nutrition. Feed Raw meaty Bones!

People have the NERVE to sit around and state that fresh raw meaty bones that I could feed to my family is dangerous! What a joke as thousands and thousands of pets die or are injured from crapinabag daily. You will never hear of thousands of dogs dying from fresh foods!
Read these articles:

And then buy Ann Martins book called "Foods Pets Die For" and you will see that this is NOT a new problem. Has been going on for years and will continue to go on forever.

People love to give a thumbs down on these types of answers. It's easier then reading the truth and learning anything.

And you do not need a vet or nutritionist to help you with a home made diet. A VET would be the last person to ask. They no very little about nutrition only having to take a few hours of nutrition classes all the years they are in school. They line their walls with Science Diet... That's the proof they are clueless on nutrition!! And getting a specialist to help you feed your dog??? IF you can feed yourself and your family with out the help of a nutritionist then you are perfectly capable of feeding a dog. Dog food companies have brain washed people with words like Complete and balanced into thinking that feeding a dog is some kind of a science and that THEY are the only ones qualified to figure it out.... all the while throwing a bunch of grains in your carnivore dogs bowl! What a laugh!!

I feed raw meat all the time, certainly not just once a week. They have a varied diet of meat, fish & eggs, but not a lot else. Dogs do get all their nutrients from different cuts of meat from different animals. For those of you that just can't see it as a healthy way for dogs to live, then at least do some study on it, and learn a little more about how they make dog food and what goes into it that a dog not only doesn't need but causes half of the problems they have. I will never feed commercial kibble again. PS. A dogs digestive system is totally different to ours and as such copes with the bacteria that would make humans ill.

If you are asking this question then you should stick to commercial dog food. That is until you have educated yourself to where you can provide a balance nutrition meal to your dog. Asking questions on the Internet is not going to fulfill that education. Joining a raw food message board, ask them what reading material is the most helpful. Once you think you know what you are doing, and this won't be as easy as you think, then start dabbling in a raw or home prepared diet for your dog.

Be aware that people that feed a raw or home prepared diet become fanatics and make the wildest claims about their dog once on this diet. And they claim that anyone that feeds a commercial diet is poisoning their dogs.

Way to go "FREEDOM". Vets are clueless. I have read the book "Food Pets Die For" and I could hardly get through it. It should be required reading for anyone who owns a dog.

To answer your question, you can feed chicken, beef, pork, lamb, rabbit, and fish. Read grocery ads to catch good deals.

The best food for dogs is dog food. All others do not have the needed nutrients for raising a healthy dog. Never give a dog the food scraps from your home nor any kind of meat other than that commercially made for dogs.

Why would you want to feed it something other than what they really need?. I would suggest getting a good brand of dog food and leave the raw meat scraps alone. I use Nutro and my dogs love it.
