The body of Christ will be judged FIRST.
"For the time is come that ajudgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
I Peter 4:17
I'd be the first to admit; I get confused by this doctrine when I compare it to many scriptures.

em,
"It is more a time of reflection with Christ, to see how many crowns (rewards) that we will/or will not be throwing back at our Saviors feet."
I couldn't find anything REMOTELY similar to that.

spiritroaming, This is EXACTLY what I'm geting from the scriptures, But I keep hearing a LOT of people talk about this "once saved, always saved' thing.
The way I see it (and I believe i can show in the scriptures); i've got a "race to run"; And I can win or lose. It's NOW up to me (with my Lord by my side).

FuulGospel SHirley, WOW!! Thank you! Some time I feel like I'm being pulled this way and that way, etc.....This subject is REALLY difficult in my mind. Why? because it is SUCH a contradiction among people who BOTH consider themselves following Christ.

That is not a true belief. Its a lie of the devil. If its once saved always saved, wouldnt the devil still have a chance? Its ludicrous. It is so false. If you do a study on this you wont belive how many things there are to show it. salvation is free indeed. Only thru Jesus death on the cross are we saved. Gift is free. But we must accept that free gift to have it. If I buy you a present and you never come get it, do you have it.?? NO.
God tells us we must accept Jesus into our hearts, repent, turn from sin, and follow Him > Follow means to obey. Abiding in Him means to obey, live like Him, walk like Him, and want only to be like Him. That means obedience. If we dont obey God and say we love Him, we wont be saved. He says by our fruits, ACTIONS< we will know them as to who is His and Who isntl. Remember..?????? and ,if we wont accept this free gift and do as He says, we dont have the gift. JEsus came that we may be free of sin, not be free to sin. God forbid didnt He say on this subject YES He did.
Jesus was free of sin andthats how we are to be also. Only by the power of Jesus can we do this, and thru obedience. We cant do it on our own, we need Holy SPirit power, which comes thru obedience.
The once saved, always saved doctrine was created by ppl who want to live as they please and still be saved. What did Jesus die for? A re we to continue in sin.?? How do we show what Jesus does for us, if we are just like the others that dont believe? Doesnt make any sense, and its a lie. WE are to show the world the joy, peace and love that GOd gives to us, and how He leads us to become overcomers in this world and to live in a life free of sin, then we have someting to offer other ppl. RIGHT? Absolutely right. I am glad you are quetioning that doctrine, it means you are hearing loudly from GOd. Just listen to Him, and you will know. Great question. You are welcome to e mail me if you want. God bless you

"Once saved, always saved" is an erroneous teaching. This is where you get the 'cheap grace' teaching. Essentially, 'cheap grace' teaching, or antinomianism, says that once you've received salvation, you can go sin as much as you like, because to them God's grace will come upon you when you sin, so you will be clean no matter what.
And there are of course people who have left the kingdom of God. Can't consider them saved if they don't have a relationship with God.

Catholics do not believe in 'once saved, always saved."
A "saved" person can freely choose to turn completely away from God and God will respect his (or her) free will choice.
This is where mortal and venial sins come into the picture.
A mortal sin is a grave infraction of the law of God that destroys the divine life in the soul of the sinner (sanctifying grace), constituting a turn away from God. For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must be present: grave matter, full knowledge of the evil of the act, and full consent of the will.
Most of the sins we commit are venial sins. Venial sin is a sin which does not destroy the divine life in the soul, as does mortal sin, though it diminishes and wounds it. Venial sin is the failure to observe necessary moderation, in lesser matters of the moral law, or in grave matters acting without full knowledge or complete consent.
However consistent unrepentant venial sins can slowly destroy your relationship with God and become mortal sin.
People die all the time with venial sins on their conscience and they will go to heaven.
With love in Christ.

there's not such things as ONCE SAVED the Bible doesn't that In fact it teaches the opposite,, let me show you some scriptures
(2 Corinthians 13:5-6) 5 Keep testing whether YOU are in the faith, keep proving what YOU yourselves are. Or do YOU not recognize that Jesus Christ is in union with YOU? Unless YOU are disapproved. 6 I truly hope YOU will come to know we are not disapproved. . .
(1 Corinthians 9:27) 27 but I pummel my body and lead it as a slave, that, after I have preached to others, I myself should not become disapproved somehow.
(Luke 13:23-24) . . . He said to them: 24 “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell YOU, will seek to get in but will not be able,. . .
not these claimed to be christians, but they found themselves disaproved
(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
(Revelation 2:10) 10 Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. Look! The Devil will keep on throwing some of YOU into prison that YOU may be fully put to the test, and that YOU may have tribulation ten days. Prove yourself faithful even to death, and I will give you the crown of life. . .
(Matthew 24:13) 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

You're confused because it isn't true.
Certainly, Christ did die on the cross once for all and has entered into the holy place in heaven to appear before God on our behalf. Christ has abundantly provided for our salvation, but that does not mean that there is no process by which this is applied to us as individuals. Obviously, there is, or we would have been saved and justified from all eternity, with no need to repent or have faith or anything else. We would have been born "saved," with no need to be born again. Since we were not, since it is necessary for those who hear the gospel to repent and embrace it, there is a time at which we come to be reconciled to God.
"He who endures to the end will be saved"
"See then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off"
'Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord" shall enter the kingdom of heaven’
"I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby justified [Gk., dedikaiomai]. It is the Lord who judges me"
"I pummel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified"
there are those who "believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away"
"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

it is not a Biblical doctrine.
It would be like if you got married and then right after the reception you each went your different ways...it is not a marriage unless there is continuous interaction.
Otherwise Jesus' death would seem kinda insignificant. He died to save us from our sins...Salvation is daily!
If once saved always saved was true, Peter would not have needed forgiveness from denying Jesus.

Yes the doctrine of "once saved always saved" is true. the purpose of the judgment is to be judged for our actions on earth, whether good or bad. It is more a time of reflection with Christ, to see how many crowns (rewards) that we will/or will not be throwing back at our Saviors feet. You are still saved.

it's false no such thing.
your salvation is your crown which you CAN LOSE!!!
10 “Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the HOUR OF TEMPTATION/fake jesus/antichrist that will come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth 11 I am coming soon.[d] Hold on to what you have, so that no MAN/fake jesus/antichrist will take away your crown.
Revelation 3:10-11\
also...matthew 7:22...NOT ALL WHO SAY LORD LORD SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM!!! for in that DAY/day of the Lord/7th trump..MANY Shal say to me Lord Lord we cast out devils in your name and healed the sick in your name..and I shall say to them DEPART FROM ME YE WORKERS OF INIQUITY I NEVER KNEW YOU!!!"
they did all those things in Jesus' name..had faith..had savlation so they though......they did something to LOSE IT!!! what? They bowed a knee to the FAKE/man of sin/antichrist..THEY LOST THEIR CROWN/Salvation!!!
