Fortunately I am not a Christian, so I need not concern myself with this particular rule.

But for the "christians" amongst us, when did you get to be so perfect you can lecture others about what they are doing wrong? Most of you haven't even read the bible, yet you feel perfectly qualified to tell us that gays are an abomination who will go to hell for their sinful ways.

Isn't it about time to confess you hate homosexuals and the only reason you quote the bible is because you think your hatred carries more weight if you say God hates them too?

If you believe yourself a sinner who has yet to give up sin, then who are you to preach to others about giving up sin?

As a Christian I will say those you are talking about are wrong!!!!
God has not called us to enforce His commands on an unredeemed world. Rather, he has called us to proclaim the message of salvation.

We are supposed to being showin some love!!!

We do not "hate" homosexuals; rather it is YOU who hate US, because you cannot control us.

It must be frustrating to realize that there is one segment of society who will not buy into hedonistic propaganda, no matter what.

If you really thought that being "gay" was OK, then why are you so insecure of your beliefs that you NEED so badly to convince us that you are right?

You seem to be assuming that Christians are hypocrites who are knowingly living in habitual sin.

Usually, when a Christian says that he is a "sinner", what he means is that he is not yet perfect, but at least he is trying. It is a figure of speech that is supposed to show humility by reminding the Christian that he has yet to become perfect; it is not a confession of a double standard, as you seem to be assuming (and least not for some).

The entire passage people get that "you without sin cast the first stone" has been taken out of context probably since probably after it was written down. That is the problem with Christian teachers and churches. Some say they are teaching 1/2 truths. I say they are more wrong that just 1/2.

When the Jewish religious leaders were bringing this woman to trial for adultry that they "caught in the very act", they went about it all wrong. First of all the Jewish Law states that the womans husband must be the one bringing her to trial. That was not the case. Secondly the man whom the woman was committing adulty with must be brought to trial with the woman. This was not the case either. Jesus knew that and when he stated to the religious leaders "ye who is without sin, cast the first stone", He is refering to the improper methods these leaders were using to bring the woman to trial.

OH there were many people get stoned to death during Jesus time. I suggest you people study a bit more.

its your own conviction and insecurity that you would ask a question like this. the reason you think preachers are "casting stones" is because you know your own beleifs are wrong and you'd rather put it on someone who is being lead by god to inform a group of christians in the right ways to live. who do you think makes the laws for what is right or wrong? you or god? are you puting yourself above Him? Instead of asking how Christians got so perfect, you should ask yourself how you got to be so imperfect in your own belief systems. The point of preaching isn’t to cast stones and point fingers, it is for the glory of god, to help people be closer to Him, not for them to feel bad about themselves. And if you do feel bad about yourself when you hear preachers, then maybe that says something about your own life, and how you shouldn’t cast your own stones. Just because you might have heard a couple of preachers say some things that you don’t agree with, or things that convict your own conscience, doesn’t mean that Christianity is all pointing fingers, it means you should have a better view on things, and learn more about what you are talking about. This is God that you are talking about, the creator of the universe…..nothing is above Him, not even your own beleifs

If Jesus forged a stone, he could have been a sinner. The regulation required the two the guy and lady to be stoned with the witness throwing the 1st stone. the place became the guy? the lady became completely set up and the witnesses recent weren't sturdy. The Bible does not say what Jesus became writing interior the dirt, yet i think of it ok would have been the regulations suitable to adultery, mendacity etc.

I think I understand what you are saying.

It is not meant for us Christians to go around and tell everyone what they are doing wrong. The same Word we use to determine right and wrong also tells us that if we judge someone we are just as guilty as the sin we are judging them on.

As Christians, I truly believe the greatest calling we have in our lives is to love. Christ loved unconditionally and if we are Christian which is to be Christ-like, too often we give a poor representation of the love of Christ. It is something that we should be aware of every second of every day.

Most Christians hate the sin, not the sinner.

Your ignorant question has a giant hole in it. The Bible says that Jesus told the people that those of you with out sin shall cast the first stone, which means do not judge others, worry about your selves. When a preacher preaches about something he or she is teaching about the word as well as some trial they have went through. It is to help a person develope a sense of help in their life. You need to understand by striking with such a pushy question like that you will not get any real responses that you desire. I am a Pastor and I really take offense to that question...but God Bless you anyway.

I think there's some confusion about being "Christ-like." Christ preached, but he was Christ. So I think sometimes people try to be spreading the good word but instead they end up coming off really arrogant and wanna-be-messianic, when they are just humans struggling like the rest of us. They should follow Christ's teachings, like "let he who is without sin cast the first stone," without actually trying to BE the savior.

I was raised in the Catholic church, and it always seemed to me that we should be as generous and understanding with each other as possible--not applauding bad behavior, but leaving ultimate judgment to God himself, who is the only one with the real authority to know what is in people's hearts.

Sadly as I grew older I saw fewer and fewer examples of that kind of Christ-like behavior around me. (Jesus wanted to save prostitutes and BEFRIENDED them to do it, he didn't just judge them even though he hoped they would change.) It led to a real crisis in faith, because I don't have it in me to write off other people. And when you stand in front of someone so prideful and sure you're right, that's exactly what you're doing, as much as you may tell yourself you're doing it to help them. You're doing it to feel superior. Try being friendly instead and see what being Christ-like by example could accomplish.

personnally i am a christian. i have read the bible and many of my friends are homosexuals. the way i see it is that we weren't put here to judge other people but to influence other's by being an example.

We don't preach to tell you what is wrong with your life but to encourage you to change it for good.

Jesus said "Follow me." to peter and his brother. and they got up and left work left all their live's behind to follow him.

God doesn't hate anyone. Our God is a loving God who cares for all people. he hates the sin that satan has put in our world and corrupted our lives with but He is also a forgiving God. i am a sinner. i sin everyday. its human nature. and the bible also says that all sin is sin. no matter what. a lie is just as bad as murder in god's book. but he forgive's it all the same.
