This is only a matter of the grade of the sugar. Superfine sugar has been sifted and reduced to a finer grain. Confectioner's sugar is sugar that has been powdered by grinding and rolling. It is powder in appearance and feels almost like talcum powder between the fingers.

superfine suguar is just really fine small crystals of regular granulated sugar. It can be used in place of regular sugar. And the real advantage is that it dissolves faster than regular. Confectioner's sugar is powdered sugar. It is best used for making frosting.
