I think they are saying best answers in that category and that would be the difference.
I don't know if it is a real person or not. But it is really obvious that something is odd. There is no way you would get 44% best here no matter how good your answers. I have heard groups try to outvote his answers and they can't, no matter how many votes they put up.

In grade school math, you learn about set theory and subsets.
R&S is a subset of S&C, is a subset of all the topics.
It just means he has 3754 best answers TOTAL, out of which 3043 are in S&C, out of which 2924 are in R&S.

i doubt imacatholic is a person go to polls and surveys look at their top guy he has a hell of a lot of best answers and all his answers are one word answers i think something is going on

I've always thought to get that many "Best Answers", "he" would have to be a bot. =OP
But the calculation is easy:
3754 "Best Answers" in all categories, of which
3043 are in the category of S&C, of which
2924 are in the subcategory of R&S.
The R&S "Best Answers" are a subset of the S&C "Best Answers" which in turn are a subset of total "Best Answers".
