Ok, most of the people here are for immigration as long as it is "legall" . Let me teach you a little from that side of the coin which I am sure most havn't done research on:

-I am from Mexico City, I have lived here in the US on legal status for 8+ yrs. So I know what I am talking about

-first of, everyone complains that ilegalls don't pay taxes, let me tell you that everytime they buy an american product, they pay taxes, as for Medicare and Social Security, I, as a legal immigrant, don't have to pay them because I get no ebenfits at all, ilegall immigrants don't get them either for the fact that they are not registered, but still have to pay Federal and Fica. Oh, and for school taxes, my parents own two homes here and pay the taxes any American citezen does, the difference is that I get charged as an out of state student. So, we get screwed up by your laws.

-My dad just opened a factory in the US, and since he needs his people to start fast he is trying to bring them with working visas so that they are "legall" as you so lovely demans. Guess what, they keep getting rejected and these are highly educated qualified people, oh and us, even though we have invested so much in the US and done some many things (e.i. fund raiser for Katrina victims, while many AMERICANS stood idle ) we still can't become residents.

So please finally get in your heads, thanks to your laws, it is practically impossible to become a legall resident, unless you wait 30+ yrs of processing and are very rich. and Ilegalls don't affect your life at all, they don't screw you with taxes like us Legal immigrant workers get screwed and THIS IS THE USA, you don't dpeend on other ppl to become successful, if u don't have a job it is because u r A LAZY *** and a person that is willing to work honestly deserves to be an american resident more than YOU

First of, thank you for your point of view. It isn't one we hear often. I live in a part of the country where illegals are everywhere. Most folks get worked up for the reasons that you have mentioned. I'd love to hear more about the truth if you would e-mail me.I've heard all these things from they don't pay taxes to the Gov. gives them free loans and free cars. maybe you could enlighten me as to the truth in these matters. Thanks.

You are so right. I posted a question here that also had a lot of truths but it got deleted. Anyway it is true. "Illegal immigrants" as we are misproperly labeled, don't get any of those benefits like you said.

We try not to go to the hospital cause otherwise we're screwed. We have to take jobs nobody else wants like picking up food, janitors, working at slaughterhouses to provide the meat in mcdonalds, dry cleaning, among several other things most if not ALL americans wouldn't take.

Infact it is d@mn hard to get a GOOD JOB because they always ask for the social security number and jobs that offer benefits always check so we get the sorry jobs. Not to mention that pretty much everyone here is an immigrant to some extent.

The Indians or Indiginous people were the first ones here and the europeans were also immigrants. Also did I mention that americans who travel to other places don't bother learning the language there? They say we should learn theirs but they don't bother learning another language before they travel?

I am totally on your side. Just too bad nobody else is(or at least not from what I've seen).

Hicks, a few facts..
First all of all teh whole world cannot come live and in the USA. It does not matter if they are educated or not.

There is only room for a limited amount of people at a time. and there are only a limited amount of people available to process the overwhelming amount of visa applications.
You cannot expect the process to be fast when many millions are applying constantly.

Taxes. ok so they pay income tax. How much? teh average illegal is making a wage level where there is minimal taxes paid. Add to that that they are probably claiming several dependants so the taxes are negliable.
Average illegal is paying about 4500 dollars in taxes per year and is using 7000 dollars or more in social services.
they pay taxes yes.. but they use more. they are costing money.

You said yourself you do not pay the same taxes citizens do. and you also said you are legal but you are not a citizen. But you are complaining about paying a higher price for school.
hmmm.

I have been telling many people on here on the long and arduous process it takes to become not just a citizen but even get a visa. It is absurd! It took me 10 years and that was with all my brothers and sisters being natural born Citizens. I happened to be born in Mexico. (long story) But it took 10 years from when I was born till I was 10 almost 11 years old. Going to school here in the U.S. the school system still got paid when I attended. My parents never collected welfare.

It is a long process that needs to be corrected. How long will that take? It will take time...

Whatever the case, the United States takes time to reform and that is something that is not going to happen overnight. It will still take years just as I waited and many have waited. It was all worth it in the long run. I have lived here over 30 years plus and now have a PhD.D in Medicine and I am grateful for what I have achieved and have been able to achieved here. No handouts were taken just ALOT of hard work and patience. No mommy and daddy to pay for education just hard work and myself. It can be done... just wait and it will all work out.

those guys are idiots...way to make yourselves look like rednecks.

It is unfortunate that congress can not come up with an idea that works and everyone agrees to (just yesterday an immigration bill failed to pass, but for some good reasons) It will all work out eventually, change like this is unavoidable. It may well be that at some point california may have enough mexicans that it is they who write the laws.

Quit whining , It took me 20 years of patience and paying my dues to get my citizenship.Patience my friend is a virtue.Impatience is your Illegals......An illegal does not pay fica and other taxes if they are off the books which is the majority, and paying other taxes is part of living here so thet you can benefit from the services here.Life is not free for those that are law abiding........DO the right thing and eventually , you will be legal.

you are either ignorant or lying. As a LEGAL immigrant, I get social security and FICA taken out of paycheck every pay I get, so apparently you don't know what the hell you are talking about. LEGAL immigrant is eligible for social security after earning enough credits.
And ILLEGALS pay SALES TAX, which isn't the INCOME TAX. ILLEGALS ARE ILLEGAL.

it's quite e z to sit back as an american, n say no to illegal immigration. but what if u were not an american, n u saw a chance for ur inalienable rights as defined in the constitution. what would u do to come here? stay here?

what defines illegal immigration? isnt it just a window of opportunity; a light switch turned on or off; like a game of "red light green light?"

so legal immigration took place when the light was green, n now, now that we're here n citizens n living our lives while new groups r striving to have what we have, oops! sorry, the light is red...?

o yeah, its illegal to not wear ur seatbelt. why? cuz somebody said so! ha! illegal does not equal wrong.

we r all citizens of this world, which belongs to none of us, n when u die, whatever it is that ur here now trying to protect, which is typically nuthin, u wont keep when ur gone.

I disagree and am laughing. thanks.

Illegals are nothing more then poor people that their own governments are tossing over to the USA side to live. What is so wrong with putting in place social and economic opportunities for that nations people..

Oh yeah, they don't give a rats tiny butt cheeks about its people. So it is up to the American public to take care of other nations. Get over yourself and quit living off your daddy.
