my male cat had a trist with the neighbors female cat and ended up having kittens. Ironically the night we found out was the night before Bo's vet appt to get snipped. We ended bringing home the little guy that we call Roach. Will he play dad with the little guy???

It really depends on your cats personality. I have a male cat (around a year and a half old) and a 4 month old kitten. Jinx (the male cat) has adopted Gypsy. He bathes her and if she ever cries he goes to check and see what's wrong.

Male cats usually don't take paternal interest in kittens, but some do. I used to have an old male who acted as a 'daddy' to a kitten that had been brought into the house: Making sure she was fed and properly bathed, and taught the finer points of mousing.

When I was ten our tom cat brought us his 'children' to find homes for them. I'll never forget the mental picture of him walking up the driveway carrying a kitten by the scruff of the neck. He did this four times depositing them in his bed in our carport. Needless to say, some male cats do have parental instincts.

My 2 yr old male played 'dadcat' to a 6 week old stray.. now 3 1/2 years later he still washes his baby..lol I just told him when I brought the kitten to him.. "this is your baby.. you need to take care of your baby" at first he seemed a bit miffed but now he loves his son..

He just may. We have a male cat that has had lots of kittens with our female and he is very protective of them. He does everything the mama does. It is so cute.

Cats don't know when they are dad's. But I am sure that they will have fun together.
