User "Tigger" is right. Just praise him, it's how cats do their thing and yours seems very natural and strong by it's actions.

You can't. I put my cat straight out again if he does this to show he can't have his comfort chair for leaving a half eaten bird on my kitchen floor. However I did read once where a kitty psychologist said that cats bring back presents of birds and mice to show they are grateful for your hospitality. We did get rid of the cat flap in the end and just let the cat in and out as he asks. This now leaves us to clean up the mice and birds from the grass which is a bit easier to deal with. I think as they get older the dead surprises come less frequent. Good Luck

Does your cat have a collar? A collar with a bell can make it harder for the cat to catch anything. It will take time for the cat to get used to that though. I don't know any other ways. You could try shouting at it. It should learn what you mean if you always do it straight away but that is a bit mean because the cat probably thinks it is bringing you a present.

Don't let it outside anymore...that is really the only solution.
Cats instinctively hunt...if you put it in an environment with huntable creatures, it will hunt them and ocassionaly catch them. Actually the "gifts" this cat is bringing home is just the cat trying to impress you by saying "look what I did!"
I don't reccomend putting cats outside anyways unless you live on some desolate street...I've lost 2 cats to cars no and I'm not willing to lose any more :(

By keeping your cat indoors. Cats are natural born hunters and will hunt and kill no matter how well fed they are. You cannot train them not to hunt or punish them for hunting...it it instinctual. The only solution is to not let them outdoors. It is actually becoming a huge environmental problem as cats are responsible for the deaths of millions of migratory songbirds each year. There is a huge campaign going on now to encourage owners to keep their pets indoors.

You just have to look before opening the door. Cats bring "catches" back to you b/c they are showing love for you. They are trying to share. It has nothing to do with being hungry just a cat's instinct to hunt. They want you to be proud of them and show affection.

You are thier provider so whatever they bring home is a Thank-You because they love you. Don't ever let them see you throw it away or it will hurt thier feelings. Usually they don't bring them in they just leave them in front of the door so you can step on them! lol. Maybe you can squirt water from a spray bottle when they bring mice and things in and she might stop bringing them in.

Keep it indoors. The cat is giving you gifts, as it would bring prey back for its kitten. The only way to stop it is to cut off the source - i.e. keep the cat indoors.

Your little darling is bringing you a pressie.
There is a theory. When said darling brings said pressie you should thank them, say that is perfect and give them a fuss. In theory the little darling will be happy and satisfied that it's mummy/daddy is happy and satisfied and won't bring anymore home.
I just wish somebody had told my cat the theory !!!!!

Your cat is showing you what kind of hunter it is. You should reward her so she/he knows that you appreciate that she/he is a good hunter. Just dont let he/she in the house and step out the door and tell he/she what a good cat he/she is. And maybe he/she just might let them go or walk away from them.
