We'll have more overweight adults on anti depressants to combat the 20 years worth of medicating them as children to reduce their natural energy levels.

Find a good doctor who can diagnose ADD and ADHD properly, work with that doctor to find the right dosage of the right medication, if required for that particular child, and you will make the CHILD's life better.
Our son emerged from the nightmare of trying to cope with survival in an education system ill-suited for students bombarded with unseen interference after we found the right dose of ritalin for him (along with some diet adjustments). The diagnosis was ADD (plus food sensitivities - particularly dyes - which were making him hyper).
The lazy parents are the ones who DON'T keep digging until they find the solution (medication or otherwise)!!
Maybe think of it this way - would it be lazy parenting to let a child with a broken leg have an x-ray and then a cast?

I have had 2 sons that were on Ritalin , when they were younger. Both of them suffer from low self Esteem, And one of them does a lot of pot. Self medicates so the Doctor tells me. It does work to calm things down so that they don't have a dozen things going on in their brains at one time. It makes the teachers happy, but in the long run, I don't recommend it. And I never gave it to them at home.

I think the children will have no get up and go and no confidence in themselves. They will always want to have a pill. I believe alot of the biopolar is just people acting out and not wanting to take responsiblity for their actions. Give it a name besides bad behavior that you need to control. Give them a pill so they sleep thur the rest of their lives. The next generations will not be able to function or get along without drugs .

i think the result will be kids putting parents into old folks homes to get rid of them and inherit their house.
