It's already banned at every school I've attended, and it should be. Students won't pay attention to their assignments, they will use them to cheat and it's another thing for someone to fight over or steal. Just a few weeks, some kid stole an mp3 player from someone's locker. Cell phones are what really gets me-girls are always iming each other in class behind their purse. Are teachers actually this stupid, are they not paying attention or do they just not care?

Those things were banned from the school I went too. The main reasson was the school might have been sued over that if they didn't state if clearly in the rules.

Naturally mp3 players should be banned from class time. But for study halls, homeroom, walking in the hallways, what's this big deal? I agree with your reasoning but they shouldn't be banned completely from schools.

Yes. That's true. I'm a student, good thing our school's confiscating the iPods/mp3s of my classmates.

you pretty much summed it up. i'd say talk with the school board soon as you have an opportunity and bring this topic up to them. perhaps they haven't thought of i-pods as a problem. you can educate them! good luck!

Rot.

Classroom - no, same as you would not bring in a radio.

Outside on their own time or between classes, what is the harm.
