The terrorists on 9/11 thought they were doing mankind a service to, so for Jesus to make a sacrifice isn't that big a deal. Our troops in Iraq are making a sacrifice and I don't see people worshiping them!

We have soldiers dying in Iraq right now, today-real people with families now that is sacrifice!

Jesus was the spotless and perfect sacrifice. There is no way to make us/humans stop sinning so we need something to cover all our sins permanently. A sinful or imperfect sacrifice cannot cover the sins of another. When we accept Jesus as our savior then the Father sees us totally different. If we just believe Jesus is who he said he is and who God said he is then God sees Jesus in us and therefore we are made sinless and whole with Jesus through salvation. WE will continue to sin, but if we have a sincere heart we will repent from it, but Jesus's perfect sacrifice was enough to cover all of mankinds spots/sins. The 9/11 terrorists were just killing people. They were not perfect so why would their sacrifice cover our sin? If you wash your dirty face with a dirty cloth, is your face clean?

Jesus' sacrifice provides atonement for our sins. In order to understand it more fully you would have to understand how the Jews paid for their sins. But without going into that and in an effort to keep this short and accurate; Jesus was the pure and spotless Lamb who was slaughtered for our justification. Just like in Ancient Israel where a pure and spotless lamb was offered up once a year to God and that lamb's blood was sprinkled for the sins of the people, our pure and spotless Lamb (Jesus) was offered up for the sins of the people. But instead of doing it once a year, Jesus died once and for all to cover the multitude of sins we commit. There will never be another sacrifice, just as the little lamb's blood was sprinkled for the sins of the people, we are now covered under the blood of Jesus and made right in God's sight. That doesn't mean we don't sin, we still have free will and Jesus doesn't turn us into robots that He can pray into submission...We have the opportunity, just like we did before we accepted Jesus to choose to obey Jesus.

To sum it up: When we come to Christ we are justified (made right in God's sight) and the reason He leaves us on this earth is so that we can be made into His image. We then begin the process of sanctification (aligning with God's Word and saying no to sin), but this process is a journey and not every believer truely wants to be rid of sin.

My final answer is this: God became a man...He was killed by His own creation, desires a relationship with you and has provided the way for you so you didn't have to. If you accept that, then accept Him into your life, join a good Bible-teaching church and align your heart with His Word...He will show you what the big deal was about His sacrifice.

Yes, Jesus died to forgive sins. Does that mean that everyone's sins are forgiven? No.
Yes, we still sin as human beings. Does that mean his sacrifice has no meaning ? No.
What was the big deal about his sacrifice?

The big deal is that everyone EVERYONE was damned to hell because of their sins previous to Jesus's sacrifice. It was only if you were a devout Jew and upheld all the commandments, and made all the correct animal sacrifices that your sins were "covered". Not even forgiven. It was Jesus' sacrifice that brought actual forgiveness of sins, not just to the Jews, but to gentiles (non-Jews) as well. But this too is a choice. That's the big deal. He brought forgiveness to a world that still hates him. And he still offers his sacrifice to everyone so they don't have to burn in hell forever. That's the big deal.

Jesus died to save us from eternal separation from God. That is, some of us will die in our sins. Some will never accept Jesus and will therefore be separated from him eternally. There are others of us, however, who have converted to christianity. And although we are yet in our sins, we are pressing toward the mark. Had Jesus not conquered death, there would be no hope for our salvation. We would forever be separated from God. The big deal is that you still have an opportunity to turn your life around. You can still accept the gift of salvation, because of Jesus' sacrifice.

Jesus died for your sins in the past and your sins in the future. You have to listen to your question ,you know you were not born when Jesus died so that means when ever you get it right to go to heaven Jesus already died for all the sins that is behind you so you can get into heaven. The big question is why should you get into heaven and why should he forgive you?

It's a big deal because He was murdered and tortured for the sake of salvation... Even if you're an atheist... even if he's NOT the savior (I believe He is), stop and consider that the man gave up His life because he believed it would save future generations from sin and suffering. That, to me, is a big deal.

Jesus died so that he would be resurrected from the dead and people would know that He truly was God. If He lived a long life and died at the age of 70 from a heart attack, then people would have no proof that he was the son of God. But because he died and then rose from the dead; we know that He is truly the Son of God and that we should live by his teachings.

Sounds like you are confused about the difference between "justification" and "sanctification". It would take more space than Yahoo! allows to give you a decent answer, and judging from the frequency and contents of your previous questions, I know that you are not seriously reading your answers. You can't be. You don't have enough time.

The big deal is that BECAUSE He died for us, our sins won't throw us off into hell. We are born into a sin nature because Adam and Eve sinned. Since we sin, we go to hell when we die. But God came to earth to die for us, so that we could go to Heaven. but thats only if we ask Him to forgive our sins and ask him to come into our heart. Then we go to heaven.
