Unless you buy the HD package from either cable or satellite, you won't get HD signal. I'd go with HD cable, because satellite is the pits. The weather screws it all up,but NOT cable. You need HD-set-top box, from a cable provider.

Yeah, you will need to subscribe to HD pack, but its only like 6 bucks or so. You will get TNT and ESPN in HD which is sweet for sports like basketball on TNT and sportscenter. also, you can get hbo and showtime in HD which is really nice for movies.
I love DISH. I had it two years and my picture only went out twice. One for about 45 minutes. (but i could still watch all recorded programming on my dvr while the storm passed) and once again a year later for like 30 seconds. I live in MI and have snow and rain all the time and had a really good run.

You will need to subscribe to HD programming in order to get HD from dish.

yeah but you know that all the dishes suck
if its raining your cable will go out
I have Time Warner cable box and a HD TV
and it seems to work fine
