What is a yellow citrus fruit, with a sour taste, sometimes referred to as the bitter fruit of love?

As long as its small yellow, round and a fruit, the chances are good that it is indeed a lemon.
If its a car and has a name like Edsel or Pacer or perhaps Pinto then yes again the chances are good its a lemon as well.
Anything else being termed a lemon is subject to interpretation!

Its some thing people say when you buy, say a car a washer, any thing that does not work or is always going wrong.
You say "I have bought a lemon" or "I have been sold a lemon."
I do not know where this saying originated from.

If it's yellow, sort of round and oval, then yes. I just used two yesterday for dressing.
