As I write and watch the news, I see more innocent people starving now than ever before in the world. Why does Jesus' death appear to change nothing? Shouldn't evil have been less at least on the day He died? Maybe the day after? Why did the redemption change nothing and nobody?

For mama of 2, We know Moses and Elijah went to heaven before Jesus came to Earth because they came down from heaven to talk to Jesus. Are you saying people couldn't go to heaven before Jesus came?

Jesus became King in heaven, in 1914 and ousted Satan from heaven, down to earth :

(Revelation 12:7-9) And war broke out in heaven: Mi´cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

That is why things are worse on earth.

And this is also because of what is stated at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 :

(2 Timothy 3:1-5) But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

You clearly do not understand Christianity. Jesus did not "redeem the world of its sins" as you put it. Jesus came to offer a way of salvation through faith in him. He came to redeem the LOST PEOPLE of the world and to FORGIVE sins, not to "redeem the world of its sins." I only use the bold to show the distinction between the two.

So, to answer your question: "Why didn't the world get better after the redemption?" Depends on what you call better. The new testament is filled with accounts of people's lives that were made better because of Jesus' sacrifice. And since that time there have millions of people that Jesus has saved and redeemed the lives of. Myself included. Redepmtion is a spiritual event remember, and it's impossible to "see" such an event. We only see the effects of it. I think the greater question you are asking is why is there still evil in the world. Basically because there are more of you out there than there are of us. Though Christianity is a major world religion, it is a minority if you take into account the world population. Finally, redemption, is spiritual and you cannot see it , it's effects on the person may take a while to manifest. Change happen in people sometimes overnight, and sometimes over years. It all depends on the person. True redemption does change people dont doubt that.

I do not think you can just accept Christ and all will be well. I do believe that you need to try your hardest to live the 10 commandments. However you are not perfect and there will be times that you will sin. So, when you sin, then you must go through the repentance process. To repent you do have to come to a realization that what you have done is wrong. Confess your sin. Do what you can to make it right understanding that somethings cannot be fixed, pray for forgiveness and NEVER DO THE SIN AGAIN. In other words true repentance is not something you do blithely, you really change your mind set and life. Here is the miracle though, your Father in Heaven will help you and wants to help you if you will ask in Humility with a true desire to change. I think that you will be fine, just keep working toward it. The only person who will ever keep you from 'heaven' is you.

Had Jesus Redeemed us in your definition of the word, it would have meant a removal or Free Will. This wasn't the intent. The redemption of the Cross is more a promise from God that we will no longer pay the wages of sin "Death". Which means we are granted the immortality of eternal life.

It also wasn't an assault on evil.

And how can you say that Redemption saved nothing. I hear people talking about Inquisitions and crusades all the time, but really, Christianity has done many positive things. It has created beautiful music for 1500 years - and art, and poetry. It has feed starving people all over the world. (christian Children's fund) It's has abolished slavery in many countries. (Yes, many abolutionists though it cruel from a Christian Standpoint) It preserved literature and wisdom from the past, build beautiful cities, patroned many of the great thinkers, artists and musicians of the world. It has opened hospitals and Mother Teresa was a Christian. It fought against Hitler, helped create the Isrealie nation and tried to create peace in many instances. And besides that - for every bible thumping thug in the world, your'll find 10 good Christians who just want to help people. The Salavtion Army is a church. There are many Christian groups that feed the hungry - get Christmas presents from underprivledged people. Christ was the first Feminist and equal rights for women have - modernly stemmed from Christian people working in Christian Countries.

Every thing in this universe has a bad side, but if it wasn't for the Redemptive act of Christ and the influence of His Followers, the world would probably be a more brutal place.

Jesus does redeem- but that does not change the fact that people are still sinners- we have a choice if we are going to be redeemed or not. This is a real simplistic way to look at the word redemption but I will share it anyway- if you have a coupon that you can redeem for $200.00 off of a purpose and you do not take the coupon to the store, you will not get the discount. So it you know that Jesus redeemed you , you must accept His gift and desire to change. The ultimate victory of God's redemption will be when Jesus returns and the Satan will be defeated forever. People still sin- The redemption for us was paid in full- if we chose to accept it. Do you? Until Jesus' return there will still be evil. Can you say, that you can be one person who chooses HIs redemption and then live your life to please Him, and be a positive force in the world, through Christ even when suffering still occurs? I pray I can be.

His death inspired the largest religious movement in history and makes people try to be better every day. Why isn't the world perfect? Because human beings have free will, can commit horrible atrocities, and the world is currently still suffering from the effects of original sin. How does God respond to this? He sent is only begotten son to redeem us, even though we have each fallen short of being good and promises that there will be a day of redemption and judgement when he returns where he shall wipe away every tear and allow the meek, and righteous to inherit the earth.

Jesus came to earth to teach people about morals and values and how God wants us to live. Each of us has to make the choice to live by Jesus's teachings and examples, but some people still sin. Just because Jesus died on the cross doesn't mean that no one will sin anymore.
If we make an effort to live according to the teachings of Jesus, then we ulitimately will be good people and live the way that is pleasing to God. However, if we ignore Jesus's teachings and do evil, then we will still sin.
If every single man, woman, and child on this planet truly lived accordings to the teachings of Jesus, and loved their neighbor as themselves, turned the other cheek, and treated others the way they wanted to be treated, then the world would be free of evil. Following Jesus's example is a choice.

Maybe jesus really is imaginary. I don't know. I'm an ignostic. But the reason reason you see more people dying on tv now adays is probably because we have a much better ability to display the fact that people are dyeing and hurting and starving all over the world. Not that it hasn't always been happening. The horrible things that happen today are just as horrible before Jesus died on the cross.
So you may be on to something. Ask yourself, "Is a change in religion in order?"

If God wants, he can stop all sin now. But then we will become like robots. This choice of good and evil was given to Adam, and he chose evil. Our human body is made by God in such a way that we enjoy somethings and we do not enjoy some things. Think if we enjoyed all the things, then we would be unable to define enjoyment. The bible also shows that God also has dominian over Satan. He allows Satan to tempt Job. However, Satan also had the choice to repent (he is a fallen angel) or tempt Adam. His punishment for blaspheming the name of God (books of Adam and Eve, a lost book of the bible) of falling into the Earth was just.

If we think from another perspective, our human bodies are a bit like robots. Now think about a football match between France and India. Who will win? This is probably why God can easily predict about us.

So isn't it fair and just? God asked Adam to follow one commandment. He didn't. Now all those who don't will suffer death , and those who follow God will go through everlasting bliss. Therefore, God sent Jesus to die for our sins so that we might be saved by repentence and not recieve the just punishment we ought to recieve.

Christ's death on the Cross did not accomplish the ending of sin in the World, nor did it ever promise to do that. What it did was give each person the OPPORTUNITY to be washed clean of their sin IF THEY REPENT OF THE SIN.
Christ's crucifiction destroyed Death, which is simply one of many of Satan's names.
That means that if you repent and believe on Jesus Christ, then you can not be destroyed by the SECOND DEATH, which is the final death in the lake of fire. Thats where Satan is going, and you can escape having to follow him into it.
As for the true fact that the World is getting worse instead of better, there is a definite reason for that, as written in Scripture:
Before the event you read of in Genesis, way back before that, Satan decided he wanted the throne and position of Christ, so he started a great war. One third of our people (yes we were all there - already souls created by God) followed Satan, and a great many of our people stayed neutral; they didn't care as long as it didn't affect them; then there was another group of loyal followers of God who stayed unflinchingly on Gods side, and Satan was defeated.
Without writing so much that your eyes get buggy, God decreed that he would end that Age that was, and bring in the second of the Earth ages, where each soul would come thru one time born of woman, to make an ultimate choice of who they would follow. To make the plan work, two things had to hold true: First, each soul must have the complete free will to make decisions WITHOUT THE INTERFERENCE OF GOD IN THE INDIVIDUAL LIFE. Second, theres no use in choosing between good and good, so even though Satan was condemned to perish, he is still around because he is our comparitor. This flesh life is about a choice. We are in the end generation, and God said that all those who followed Satan would be present on Earth at this final generation. They are; this explains why the Evening News seems to get worse and worse. We have the worst of the worst present with us right now on Earth today. Every single thing that each soul does in this life is being recorded, because after this Age ends, we all go to "court". Your name is written in the great book, but what is written beside your name is another question altogether. Any sins you repent of (honestly and sincerely repent of) are blotted out as if they never happened.
This is what the death on the Cross did for us. You could have a clean slate next to your name when you go before the Great Judge, or you could have sin after sin after sin listed there, and you will pay for each and every one of them.
Every single person on this Earth fits into one of the three categories: either you followed Satan, or you were neutral and didn't even care enough to take sides, or else you are one of Gods Elect, one of those who stayed loyal on the side of God.
Thats it in a nutshell, from the manuscripts.
