I was going to have a soft, pastel pink..not hot pink, and certainly NOT going to look like the "Barbie Dreamhouse". ...pspoptart maybe you should leave your attitude at the door when giving an answer.

Don't be afraid to be bright. "Today, wedding colors are reflective of hot colors in interior design and current couture fashion...Blue and white; lavender, pink and white; silver and white; and PINK AND SILVER are currently favorite combos."
It's definately a good idea.

Ask the groom. Its really up to him. If he is OK with being thrown into the middle of the Barbie Dreamhouse Reception then go for it.

As far as color theory is concerned they don't clash.

Edit: Relax ladies. I was not saying that the groom has all the say over the wedding colors. I was saying that its yours and his. Operative part of that being "and his". It shouldn't matter if people on Y!answers thought that was the ugliest color scheme since man was created but it should definately matter if the groom thinks it is. All us girls have our "dream weddings" but its about the groom too. I can't tell you how many weddings I have photographed of a miserable groom sitting there in his pink shirt with pink tie and pink flowers accented by pretty pink tablecloths. Some men are OK with pink but many of them can't stand it so you should consider that is both your wedding day and his and take his opinion into consideration when making plans. If he's the type who says "tell me where and when otherwise I don't want to know" then go for it. Otherwise if he says "I hate pink" then save it for the bridal shower or the bachlorette. I would say the same thing if it was purple or green or any other color you can name.

"Barbie Dreamhouse" isn't my description of those colors. Thats what every guy in the house right now said it reminded them of.

I think that sounds very soft and elegant. Especially if it's a warm weather wedding.

edit. - I just read the comment about how the wedding colors are up to the groom...uh...who says? It's her wedding too...a wedding, like a marriage, is a joint venture. If she truly loves pink and silver, he should be ok with it. Who says men can't appreciate pink anyway? Loosen up!

Silver and pink can be a stunningly beautiful combination, if they are done right.

I would suggest using silver for the dresses, with a bright pink as an accent color. If you use pink for your main color with accents of silver, it will look like a sea of pepto bismol!

I've seen beautiful weddings done with a dark silver and bright fuschia. Absolutely eyecatching and gorgeous.

Yes, love those!!

When my best friend gets married SOME DAY she's doing those colors with a Paris nights theme.

Wanted to have those colors except my wedding is in the fall and my dream dress has gold lace on the bottom so, I changed to fall colors for my dress =)

those were my wedding colours. my maid of honour (I didnt have any other bridesmaids) wore a light pink dress and the flowers were orchids with pink and whith roses and other flowers to acent with a silver ribbon around them. my dress with white with silver stitching for the patter and beads. we decorates in pink and silver table cloths and balloons and flowers. it was really pretty so I say go for it. its a great colour combo and works throughout the year. I had a March wedding.

If its the right shade of pink then I think it can be beautiful, be careful though that you choose a darker than pale pink, a paler pink can tend to wash people out and also wont be much of a contrast to silver.

Best of luck!

If it is what you like! Silver and the right shade of pink would look very elegant together.
