Have You Ever Wanted to Block a Troll?
The team realizes that this feature is long overdue, and we’ve been looking forward to this day for some time. Now it’s finally here, and you no longer need our help – you can block or unblock at will. Control over the visibility of your Q&A is now in your hands, and it’s easy to block trolls from your Answers experience.
How does it work?
You can block a user by either selecting Block User in their avatar rollover or by clicking on Block User on their profile page. Blocked users will not be able to view your Q&A or your Network on your public profile page. They will also be blocked from becoming your Fan. A list of Blocked users will appear on your private profile under the new Blocked Users tab, located next to your Contacts and Fans.
We will be reviewing the Blocked User lists, investigating people who have been blocked by multiple members of the community, and taking appropriate action on a regular basis. There's more so check it out!

Chad in Tempe just got my first block. To Ray Y, opinions are always welcome as far as I'm concerned. The people that come in here and ONLY want to stir up trouble are the ones I will block. You can choose to use it or not, I'm just making people aware that they have the right to block jerks from adding them to their favorites and barring them access to their questions.

My definition of a troll: A person that has no interest in the topic at hand but merely an interest in stirring up trouble and getting people mad by the use of inflammatory remarks, insulting or vulgar comments and asking inappropriate questions designed to incite the contributing members of a particular forum.

MUD WRANGLER: I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or not but I would never block you. You and I don't always agree but you are a true race fan and I am always interested to see your take on things. I wouldn't block that Ray Y either, I just don't think he gets the benefits of the block. The only 2 I've blocked so far are Chad and that I am Indy guy but I'm sure there will be many more.

I am still sort of new to answers but I agree. Please don't laugh but I besides Nascar I enjoy watching wrestling. I know it's scripted but I figure if people can watch soaps, I can watch wrestling. You get the same idiots there. Any way that I can help just let me know. Kevin P, I have a question. In your statement it could be read as you report anyone who does not agree with you. I'm not saying that is true but just hear me out. Often times on answers people often are having a bad morning/night or just misunderstand something someone says. I got reported for once saying that I had heard rumors that Gordon was gay. I never said he was gay just that I heard that rumor and someone reported me. How was that right or fair? I didn't do anything, I happen to like Gordon, Jr, and Stewart. Also you say you report anything vulgar. Well as a parent saying JR Sucks could be considered Vulgar. I'm not trying to start anything with you. I just want us all to play on an even field. Please don't think I'm bashing you because I'm not, you have never done anything to me.

Holy smokes! I just blocked Chad right before I read this question. *high five*. lol. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past overdue for something like this. I wish we would have had it about 2 weeks ago at least.

I noticed this too and was about to post a question about it but thought I better check other questions before i did!! I'm so happy! Thank you David B for getting us all the info we needed to send those emails! And thanks to everyone who took the time to copy and paste and call this troll out!!

The ifuctjr troll has been banned by yahoo but he had me on his list and I can't figure how to block him and take him off. This is a great new feature. I don't think people will block anyone other than the worst trolls, differences of opinions are welcome.

Well, if you want to just pat each other on the on back and get no contradictions good for you.

First you need to watch what questions are asked. If one of your better than everyone else people that you put yourself in asks a question like, who's the ugliest , JR is GAY, Gordon is GAY, what do you expect. This might be the only glass house.

It sounds more boring than a NASCAR race on a cookie cutter track.

I was once a long time NASCAR / Grand National fan. Probably with out a doubt longer than most of have been alive let alone the short time you have thought you invented the sport. I can and will tell you the truth how I feel about the way it was compared to the tragic way it is now and if wish to call me a troll and not the absolute truth, be my guess. I don't care a hole lot for people like you who think they are better than others anyway.
