Why do some people who have dissed God, feel that Christians live a hypocritical life(of which not a single one is beyond reproach)? Yes, there are the fanatics out there, religious, political, and every other nutcase under the sun which poisons the well...

But, is it really God which makes one "feel guilty" or is it the accountability factor which really makes people uncomfortable? In our no-fault, it wasn't me, finger pointing society, which is extremely vindictive and unforgiving, is it any wonder, God gets a bad rap?

Does man bastardize God? Or do our actions(or lack of action) condemn us? Enslave us?

We are fighting a war in IRAQ...and praying for our side to win...guess what...there are people on the other side of the world praying to the same God for the same outcome(just like Soccer Moms who want Jimmy/Jane to "win")...and God must me shaking...what have I done?! What have I created here?!

Don't "feel" guilty...make a difference(in you) and others as well.

Sin makes you guilty , not God . In fact it is the opposite of
what you say because , if you knew Jesus , He has already
taken all my sin , guilt ,shame , etc. away , I am free from
the bondage that has a hold on you . So your first and fore most mistake is that you do not know God and , well , sin just follows your lead . May God Have Mercy on your soul , amen..

Guilt is your spirit reacting to the spirit of right and wrong that all people are born with. It is called the light of Christ, or our conscience for the lay person. Everybody has an innate sense of what is right and what is wrong. We know better than to harm our neighbors yet we do to gain some supposed personal benefit. That is when we feel twinges of guilt, knowing that what we did was wrong yet rationalizing our behavior and shrugging off the guilt. If we shrug it off long enough, we become numb to the feeling and eventually become void of conscience. Then it is that we have sold our souls to the wicked one and become one of his disciples, choosing to do wrong continually and mocking those that try to do right.
So to give you the short answer, guilt is a spiritual feeling that comes from our inner self. Did God put that there? In a sense, yes, He did. We were born with it. We become more sensitive to it by nurturing it and recognizing it for what it is.

You have one faulty assumption here: that god exists. (Pick one, any one).

People invented gods to give their claims an authority they could not achieve on their own; it's more impressive to say "God says this is wrong" than to say "I say this is wrong."

Sadly, humans have bought into those claims, and willingly murder each other over whose imaginary friend is better.

I would agree with your last statement. Forget guilt; make honest, reasoned decisions based on known facts and you'll never have need of it. (Okay, maybe when you eat something that's not on your diet, but...)

Christians make us feel guilty, not God. Jesus hung out with prostitutes and sinners, it was the pharisees that were condemning them.

i believe God or whatever you want to call our creator made us to think and live for ourselves, but the main reason our fear and guilt comes to haunt us is because many fundamentlist christians who dont think and try to develop ideas feel safe in some area and want to insult, guilt, scare, and blame anyone who challenges that. however i do believe some christians are hyporcitical because they are against pornography and sexual thoughts, but they want ppl to be fruitful and multiply.

No.... God brings conviction on our hearts for change.

SATAN brings condemnation. He will tempt you to do something, then make you feel guilty when you DO it!

You see? all bad actions and negative feelings are created by humans not by God. Thanks God!
