The master, Jesus said, "Seek and you will find." He also said, "If the blind lead the blind they will all fall into a ditch." These same thoughts can be found in the teachings of all masters throughout history. I use the christian quotes because it is the newest and the one most people are familiar with.

Those who accept without question what they are told by others is the truth from the masters, this additional question. How do you know you are not being blinded by a blind person unless you question what you are being told and put it to the test?

Many people are conditioned since birth not to think for themselves. We are conditioned in most schools to be spoon fed, and not ask questions. Don't rock the boat, accept tradition. Walk the well trodden path. Its easy, for sure. The road is smooth, and you know exactly what do .

I have found it far more fulfilling to create my own road, I encourage others to do too. Questions are the key to gaining further understanding and spiritual growth. We have brains, and we need to use them more.

For religious questions, I have no idea.

For science, if I really want to a can repeat any experiment that anyone else has done. Much of physics, chemistry and biology class in school is actually doing this.

The scientific method and the peer review process has made modern science able to provide information that is extremely trustworthy. There are attempts to corrupt the process - Pilkdown man, cold fusion, etc. but all of these have been exposed due to the success of the peer review process.

As an example, if evolution was false, there would have to be a vast conspiracy amongst thousands of scientists and technicians throughout the world, every one of them taking the secret to the grave, hundreds of people being taken into the conspiracy every day. They would have to be producing new drugs etc. based not on the false evolution but through some other process, but making it look like evolution. They would have to produce all the thousands of published documents every year in a form that lay people were unable to crack the falsehoods. They would have needed to do this for the last 100 years.

This is patently a ridiculous idea. But that does not stop people who let others do their thinking for them claim that evolution is false.

Because it's easier.

Life is complicated, and getting moreso every day. The sheer mass of knowledge, even about mundane things, is growing exponentially. Our business, for example, is seeking a company to perform certain services for us, and just searching out those qualified, comparing costs and benefits, and choosing has been in the works for days.

Metaphysics and philosophy are filled with questions that no one really knows the answers to, and we have been conditioned to seek answers. Remember in school when the teacher chastised someone for saying "I don't know," while the person who guessed wrong was told, "Good try?" People will choose any answer over admitting they don't know, even if the answer might be wrong.

In some cases, it's also a lack of maturity. Some seek replacements for Daddy, which is why religions often refer to their deity as "Our Father" and why priests insist on being addressed that way. That still goes back to easier, but it also brings that sense of safety children get from their parents.

The master, Jesus said, "Seek and you will find." He also said, "If the blind lead the blind they will all fall into a ditch."

thats common sense.
i would never let a blind man lead me. also when i play bass or start going to school i will seek to be the best at my career.
and i like your last question it works both ways so you and i are blind. no one "REALLY" knows the truth so why push for it.
what if god was made from state.

I think this is an excellent question.

Everyone allows others to do the thinking for them at some point or another. How else do self-help books, psychologists, doctors, stock brokers, analyzers and the myriad of other help-oriented service providers make so much money? In schools, information is watered down to provide the opinions of those writing the books not necessarily factual information, and then the teacher will further dilute it to fit his/her belief system never mentioning that that is in fact opinion. We have been trained from early on to except another's thinking as our own.

I completely agree with your latter paragraph. The only thing to do is study the originals for yourself (not snippets of what may or may not be originals), and make your decision.

I used to be that way and have so many friends still like this, and there are many reasons. Often you are with a controlling person that overrules you and you do things because of fear of what happens when you dont , lack of self esteem. shyness, so many things. BUt, once one realizes who they are in Christ Jesus, then they know the only one to tell them what to do Is GOD. Others may advise help and help us, etc. But, we are free in Christ to make our own choices and decisions, as long as they go along with What GOD tells us to do in His precious Word. Because we now He nows best. and we gladly let Him show us His truths, and know all will work out in victory if we follow Jesus all the way.
We must question things , you are correct. Even with someone gives us a so called new truth of GOD. If it doesnt line up with what Gods word tells us, we knowits false and we leave it as the lie that it is. If it lines up with GOds truths, then we know its of God and hold onto it with all we have.
We must pray that everyone will learn who they are in Jesus Christ, and know that Only He is to lead and guide. Jesus is the only way. Press on with the Lord. Seek and ye shall find.

Solomon wrote that if God did not exist all the injustices in the world would be meaningless such as hunger, war, genocide etc. God will put things right in the end because his resources are unlimited. He is the creator and master of life. He can easily restore life and worlds. Note: God can take life because He can restore it can anyone else make that claim? His wisdom has been prov en countless times and it has been cataloged in a book called the Bible but who will believe our witness?

Interestingly enough this applies to both sides of the debate yes?

I am not one to believe what I am told but I do believe that God exist and that the bible is His word to us. I however do not accept what I am told by my "teachers" but have studied the word on my own to arrive at what I believe they say.

But I wonder how many of my R&S brethern on the other side of the debate ever question their sources? To have faith in the research of others instead of finding out for yourself seems to contridict their premise that they only believe what they have proven for themselves to be true. In truth they believe what someone else has told them to be true.

Why do people ask questions people want answers simply handing over your problems on someone else more capable might seem better at first but just being lazy is a problem too

"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul(APOSTLE PAUL) said was true" (Acts 17:11).

The "Noble Bereans" of the past, speak.. "amen," from beyond.
