to keep me from starving in the mornings. The reason I quit eating breakfest is because it makes me really hungry to where I snack all day.
Now that I don't eat breakfest I have also cut way back on the amounts I eat and I eat a small lunch like a turkey sandwich and a few chips, sometimes no chips. I eat a small amount of supper, like 1/2 the amount I'd normally eat. I drink water, juice, tea, and green tea with only a small amount of sugar. I get the feeling of being hungry constantly, but I know when my body really needs food because my head hurts, and when my tummy growls but my head does not hurt I feel that I am only wanting to eat out of habbit.
I've lost about 4-6 pounds in the last 2 weeks, and my hunger feelings are getting better from not eating as much.
I go to the gym at least 3 days a week and the days I don't go, I am walking and doing things outside around my home.
What else can I do to add to this weight loss ordeal?

First off, weight loss is a slow process, if you lose weight too quickly it will just come right back plus some the moment you start eating normal again. I've lost 30 pounds in the last 6 months or so, by keeping my metabolism up by eating several small meals or snacks a day, keeping my calorie intake around 1000 to 1200 a day and doing at least an hour of some form of cardio 4 times a week. You sound like you are starving yourself and that will only work initially, then your body will go into a hibernation type mode and will start storing whatever you eat as fat because it thinks you are starving to death. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day it kicks starts your metabolism and will help you burn more calories during the day. I like to eat a Snack Size Zone Perfect bar in the afternoon so I am not starving by dinner time. They are only 80 calories and have balanced amount of carbs and protein and vitamins. Also try reading the Body for Life book for Women or go the website bodyforlife.com. You don't have to follow the plan exactly if doesn't fit with you but it is a great guideline. Good luck!

Okay 1st it sounds like you are not eating 1200 calories a day, and if you aren't your body will soon shut your metabolism down b/c it thinks you are starving and you will quit losing weight. 2. If you don't eat regularly throughout the day you also will not burn as many calories. It is best to eat 5-6 small meals but you need to at least eat 3 meals w/ snacks. YOU NEED to eat breakfast to get your metabolism going in the morning. Try eating something w/ lots of protein - I have this problem so I eat a Lean Cuisine pizza for breakfast it is healthy and loaded w/ protein OR eggs (2 eggs 3 egg whites). The key is finding lean choices that are loaded w/ protein. OR Try a cereal loaded w/ fiber and add fruit. I eat some fruit mid morning. Turkey sandwich w/ veggies or fat free/light chips for lunch. Usually I am not hungry in the afternoons but if you are have some veggies or fruit or pretzels. Dinner we have shake n bake chicken (using skinless breast strips) w/ veggies or grilled chicken or grilled pork chops, etc. And I keep light sugary snacks around for after dinner (tootsie rolls or gummie bears or popsicles).

See my post in response to your question about what snacks to eat. I don't recommend your skipping breakfast strategy, but if it works for you, fine. I am concerned that you let yourself get to stomach growling and head hurting level before you eat. You put yourself at risk to eating the wrong things. I find that it is when I get to that stage that I give into the temptation to go out and buy salty snacks, which have way too many calories.
If you are hungry, eat -- but what I have found quench my hunger quicker, is if I have grapes, cherries an other bite sized healthy whole, organic foods in the fridge to grab. I'll get in the door from work and grab a few cherries for example. Or pickles -- they have like 5 calories each -- and they are filling and give your stomach something to work on.
Be careful of all the people recommending that you spread peanut butter and cheese and stuff on your veggies as snacks. That stuff has a lot of calories. It's not bad for you, mind you, but read the back of a peanut butter jar - you'll be amazed at how many calories that stuff has.

You are on your way to having nutritional problems.
You must eat breakfast, it's not optional. Let me explain it this way. Digestion needs energy. After about 8 hours of sleep, your body is in a type of "hybernation" mode, where it doesn't need a lot of energy to work. You get up, and as soon as you eat, your energy needs go up, making it burn calories. If you don't eat, it won't need to burn as many. You will feel sluggish and have a shorter attention span.
Try eating 2 small meals in the morning, have some fruit and eat yougurt later. If you eat a mid-morning snack, you will lose more calories (remember? eating-burning calories). Have a sensible, healthy lunch, that includes protein.
Don't eat carbs after 5 pm. But do have dinner. And don't wait until you are too low on glucose levels to eat ( too low glucose in blood is the cause for headaches).

you can start eating breakfast and more food in general - because you didnt lose fat - all you have lost is water weight and muscle and slowed down your metabolism which happens when you deprive/starve your body.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

My husband is a very healthy eater, he has actually lost about 13 lbs in the past month. He was never fat but he just wanted to be at a certain weight while he is working out. But one thing is you need to eat breakfast, that is an important key t o dieting. I read somewhere that a lot of times a body is not even hungry but seems like you want to.. in a reality it said you are just thirsty.
