There is absolutely no non-humiliating way to tell someone they smell. In polite society, you hold your nose and don't invite them back for tea. In the work place - mentioning it to the supervisor is the only answer. They can take the employee off privately and sicsuss the situation.
Some people might suggest giving them perfume or a nice bath set, problem is, they probably won't get the hint.

i have the same problem with a co worker. actually, there are several of them. Then I found out that in their culture, proper hygiene is not practiced! which is really bad because they smelled like onions (and i am not exaggerating)! We tried the deo in their desk thing. Then one of them said that they are not supposed to use them, as a respect to their culture...
I dont want to sound racist or anything, but I thought in this modern day and time, people are supposed to shower everyday...well, at least every two days. I didnt know that there is such a culture who still practices poor hygiene.
I guess i didnt give an answer...but i guess they do know that they smell, its just that they are not properly educated to practice good hygiene. Someone should put up a memo or something in your office about that.

I had this happen as a Supervisor years ago. A few employees brought this up to me and I brought the complaining people in a room and discussed some ideas. He was a great worker and I did not want to damage a relationship with him and the staff. I empowered the team to resolve this between them.
They brought in a bar of soap and RightGuard and put it on his bench with a note. You might not know this but after a long day you have B.O. For the team, pleae consider these as a gift.
The problem went away the next day. The note was not signed.

If you are scare to tell ur co-worker that he/she stinks, try to write in a piece a paper and put in on his/her table!!
Or try to make some facial expression that you dislikes him/her whenever he/she comes near you.
Some ppl may like to have body odor b'cause it is fragrance.
Complaining to supervisor is useless because they only supervise and will laugh at you if you inform to them.
So, I suggest you should inform to the very top level manager b'cause one of manager task is to make better decision.
Your manager perhaps later might held a grooming talk to employees and let the body odor ppl feel less bias.

A lot of people think that body sprays are to be used as a deodorant, which obviously is not correct. You need a anti perspirant. Ask to borrow theirs one morning saying you forgot yours and if they show you a body spray say never mind and tell them why. They just might learn something!

I would talk to the supervisor about having them talk to the smelly person.
I had to deal with that issue with a person with very very bad breath.

if they are really ommiting offending odor you should talk to your boss unless you know them pretty well and feel comfortable enough with them to say something about it. you could always ask them if they have switched deodorants and when they answer yes , say you should switch back this one isnt working too well. and if they say no say maybe you should since i dont think it's working for you anymore. i hope this helps you out.

supervisor. tell them and ask them to keep it anonymous. it doesn't call you out and its the boss' job to do it anyway.
you could do it yourself b/c if someones body odor is infringing on your noes then its your business. but to keep everything kosher i suggest you tell your supervisor and have them handle it.

You don't, unless you know them very, very well. You discuss with your supervisor your fear that this problem may be distracting you from your work.
Trust me, when managers hear "less output" they do something about the situation.

Tell the supervisor. Some people do not know they stink...some people do know they stink and just do not give a damn.
