I can't really say I agree with you. I was christian once and am not going back. God is from within.

The Bible does not say "God helps those who help themselves"
In Matthew 18:3 Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven"
It is actually our dependence on God and giving up what we think we know or what we think we can do that allows God to work in our lives so we can become who He designed us to be.
I've heard some eastern religion says we are "human becomings"...we are in process. This is definately true for Christians. No one has all the answers. 2 Corinthians 13 says we "see through a glass darkly", that is to say, our vision is not clear. Only when we get to perfection (heaven) will our vision be completely clear. Until then we must rely on Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

You are right - only Jesus saves, and only God's forgiveness matters when it comes to salvation, because HE is the only one with the authority to judge others. But while we are here on earth, we are commanded to forgive others and walk in love. That doesn't mean avoiding confrontation - there are times when that is necessary. Jesus confronted the Pharisees on a regular basis for their pious attitudes & lack of compassion. God will only forgive us to the extent that we offer forgiveness to others. We do not have the authority to judge whether someone will go to Heaven or Hell - that authority belongs to God alone.
Economist - NOWHERE in the bible does it say "God helps those who help themselves" (Where DO people get that impression?)

"I was led wrong, and had to get back to myself to make it right again! It wasn't my fault! It was in the sin of Adam that led us wrong, and only Jesus saves!"
Big red flags Colson:
1. All are led wrong
2. Only Christ can "make it right". You had nothing to do with it.
3. It is totally your fault. If you were Adam, you would have done the same exact thing.
4. I agree with one part, that Jesus saves.

If you imagine that only God's forgiveness matters, you are going to be very lonely in this life. Do you have ANY friends, or have you driven them all off with your persistent intolerance? Do members of your own family still speak to you, or have you alienated them too. You, Colson, you must learn to forgive your fellow human beings. If you can't learn to do that, you're missing the whole point of being alive.

No. When you do wrong, it is your fault, because it's your choice. You need to forgive yourself and go on to make better choices. No deity need be involved in turning your own self around.
Saying there is actually disempowers people to take action on their own. Anyone can do this at any time by their own choice. You are NOT born anew, you just change.
It IS your fault, but you can make it okay. And only you can really forgive yourself.

What is your agenda here?
Yes I agree with Jesus and the forgiveness of sins is the answer to a lost and dying world.(I am included in this group.)However,is not judging someone in a 'same sex 'relationship worse than the' same sex 'acts?
Remember,if you see someone in a' same sex 'situation according to the Bible they are already under wrath.....
wouldn't we Pharisees....um I mean Christians be compelled to bring Gospel to them?....

"Isn't it true that only God's forgiviness matters?"
I don't know - how does "God" feel about lying?
You said you were leaving. I pegged that as a lie then, and you've proved me right.

Nope your wrong. Since it's written that God helps those who help themselves, this implicitly means that people's actions and choices are of importance to God. Therefore, God's love is NOT the only important thing, but one of many important things in life.
If you have made bad choices in life you will suffer for them regardlesss of the fact the God loves you.
