Well, you can start by keeping the earth clean! Pick up litter (with gloves) maybe once a week around town! Also, you can volunteer at your local animal shelter, which is loads of fun if you like animals! Ask your school if you can plant a tree or flowers around your school once a month! Hope this helps!

I think the best thing an 11 year old can do is to try their very best in school and learn as much as they can about the world they live in. Then when they are older they will be better equipped to make a difference in the world and be a positive influence in the world.

Hi,
I'm 12. First of all do not believe anything you hear about global warming. Politicians just want to get votes. The best way to do that is scare everyone and then promise to pass laws to end it. Global warming is not man-made.
Sorry for answering your question poorly, but I know that when you vote in 7 years and when I vote in 6, politicians will be doing the wrong things like weaken our defense to dangerous levels or weaken our economy by radical environmentalist laws and huge taxes and extra government intervention.
PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS!!!! (that will not make the world a better place at all)

The June edition of "National Geographic" suggests that:
1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide can be saved if the average household recycles glass, plastic and paper;
700 pounds of carbon dioxide can be saved if the average household would maintain a tight seal on the refrigerator door and keep the appliance's coils clean;
55 pounds of carbon dioxide can be saved if the average household would replace a 75-watt incandescent light bulb with a 20-watt compact fluorescent bulb.
Thee are national average savings, of course...but this might be a way for you and your family to start helping to make the world a better place! Good luck. -RKO- 06/07/07

What a great question! Best one i've seen all day. Practise random acts of kindness. Help others when you can, expecting nothing in return. I can tell that you make the world a better place just by being in it.

Get your whole family to change their practices. Join student goverment and advocate for change in school policies. Get information distributed at school on getting others to go green. You can do all that this year and that would be a heck of an accomplishment for a year. Good luck and remember to have fun while you're doing this stuff.
