heat from the sun dries you out causing you to become dehydrated and it will give you usually an overdose of vitamin D if your there in the sun too long so i would assume with the combination of the two and you being dehydrated your body slows down. usually by 15-18 years old people already has about 60-89% of the vitamin D that you would need for a life time.

sitting in the sun for no more than a half an hour can boost you're energy but hours of hot sun can do the complete opposite and make us dehydrated and sleepy.Believe it o not even 15 minutes in the sun can change your day to a good one.

For those of us with Lupus (SLE) sunlight can make our symptoms worse, particularly affecting our energy levels, thus for me if I sat in the sun I'd be even more exhausted than usual. I don't think the experts really know why as all the info I've found just says UV light can trigger lupus flare ups.

That's a good question. I know that when we get into the car after church or wherever, it just feels so nice and warm you just want to take a nap!
