Hi, I'm not sure who diagnosed you with a sleep "Disorder". My guess is that it was a Psychiatrist of some sort. Before we go calling it a "Disorder", please, just realize that life can be stressful. That is totally normal. Many people lose sleep because thier baby is up crying or they are worried about money or children or finding a husband or a million other things. Although this is not optimum, it is not a "Disorder". It is totally natural to be stressed out over life if there are unresolved problems you are still working out. If you are having trouble sleeping may I recommend two things to do: 1. Buy some "Cal-Mag" or "Calm" Either one will help you. It is a Calcium and Magnesium powder mix that you add to hot/almost boiling water. It fizzes up and then goes clear. Calcium and Magnesium in this ratio are tremendously helpful to your body. It is a relaxing, natural way to reduce stress as well as help your body assimilate other vitamins and minerals you may be taking. Additionally, it is extremely effective in handling PMS cramps if you take it every night from ovulation to start of menses. The second thing you may try is taking a walk. You go walking until things start to look solid. Just keep walking around the block. No method to it. Walk until the environment starts to look solid. After a while, exhaustion goes away and the next thing you know you start to feel relaxed and you can sleep. If you want to read the exact data on that, it is in a book called: "Assists Processing Handbook" found in the bookstore at any Church of Scientology. You don't have to join the church to read it. You could just ask the Bookstore Officer to have a look at it. The book contains many "Assists" to help people in trying life situations. I found out about it when I had a terrible case of Vertigo after flying. I could not believe it, but there is an assist for a person who is sick after flying. I received a few of these and the spinning sensation went away. It was amazing to me as the movement was going on for almost three weeks after I had flown and it was affecting my ability to get ready for work or do almost anything. Since then, I bought the book and have used it to help myself or other people in many upsetting situations. I hope this information helps you. Good Luck.

There is no treatment needed, this is a normal occurance. Some people talk more in their sleep than others, depending upon if their lives or active or not. Some talk in their sleep to relieve stress or anxiety or because they are having a nightmare. The only way it could pose a problem is if you shout out another person's name (opposite sex) if you have somebody else in bed with ya.

Because nobody in the real world will. Treatment: Don't sleep. I think it's because of stress, and if I'm right you have to remove the stress that's causing it.

That's not a recognized disorder as far as I know.

Children seem to talk in their sleep more than adults. I had a dog who barked and howled in his sleep almost every night. My wife and I both talk in our sleep. It's a little unfair because
she speaks four languages and I don't know what she's saying.

It is not a disorder. When people dream and in their dream they talk, laugh, cry etc. Dream is nothing but the actions of memories in the brain, sometimes comes out as talk, cry, laugh etc. So there is nothing to worry. Everybody does this.

Might I suggest ear plugs?

I do it off and on sometimes the dreams are so vivid and real that I actually reach out and even scream in my sleep.

Good Luck.

i don't think it's a disorder. my 8 year old talks in her sleep, my hubby talks in his sleep...i probably do to. i don't think you would notice unless you were somehow awake at the time. you probably talk in your sleep too.
