im thinking of starting a 6-8 hundred calorie diet. my mom say its unhealthy, but i did the math, and i can eat 2 servings of boiled chicken(110 cal each), 2 servings of frozen green beans that i boil(30 cal each), 2 big grapefruits (53 cal each), 2 cups of milk (91 cal each), and 1 piece of wheat bread (65 cal) and still only be at 633, and would keep me plenty full and leave room for a peach or plum when i get a sweet tooth. And i know i would be getting more of the nutrients i need than i usually do, so i dont know how a diet where im getting better and more nutrients and less fat can be unhealthy? so yea please explain, or confirm my idea that this would be a very healthy diet

Your getting quality nutrients, yes, but you're not getting enough with just a 600-800 calorie diet. Your daily activity and metabolism will burn off alot more than that in a day. Your body needs a steady dose of nutrients throughout the day. You don't have to increase your calorie intake too much, but 3 small meals a day is the minimum your body would need to function normally.

Is your mom a dietician???
Its really unhealthy because all you lose by depriving your body is water weight and muscle not fat and also slow down your metabolism dramatically and when you start eating normal again you gain back more than lost.
to get permanent results you have to make permanent lifestyle changes!!!
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I'm going to tell you right now that is not a healthy diet. I have been in the diet and fitness game for a while now and i can tell you that you will shock your body into storing all the fat that it has. You are going to get the opposite effect that you want what you really need to do is google a BMR calculator and put in your age, weigh, gender, and height and it will tell you the number of calories that your body needs to not gain and not lose. then you need to subtract 1400 calories (1400 is the minimum intake for your body to not think that you are going to starve and switch to storage/salvage mode). if the number that you are left with is less than 500 you need to start adding exercise 1hr walk is about 400-500 calories. start from there and remember a health amount to lose is about 1.5-3 lbs a week. good luck.

A wiser course would be to cut your current caloric intake by 500 calories a day and begin a resistance training program with cardio performed on the days you dont perform you resistance training.

If you were to go on a diet where you only consumed 600-800 calories daily you would lose weight but only a small portion of it would be from fat. The rest of the weight you lost would be musle tissue which by losing would actually slow down your metabolism.

This is extremely UNhealthy - not because of the nutrient content but because it is not nearly enough ENERGY. It would be like giving your car a great tune-up but not putting any gas in the tank.

Your body won't even be able to utilize the nutrients because it won't be getting anough energy to function properly. You will feel lethargic, your brain will turn to mush, and you'll get severe headaches, and you'll severely mess up your metabolism.

The bare minimum you should be eating is 1200 calories a day - more if you exercise even moderately.

The reason this is so unhealthy is because it takes more than 600 - 800 calories a day to keep you organs and body running the way it is supposed to. This will catch up to you and will make you sick and you will lack energy. You are also slowing down your metabolism by doing this because your organs are trying to slow down so they can maintain on the lack of calories. When you do start eating it is going to stick and you will gain all of your weight back plus some. I would listen to Mom on this one.

If your goal is to lose weight, be sure you get a good amount of protein in too. Also, i wouldn't do a lot of strenuous exercise on an 800 calorie diet, as it is a little dangerous. consider taking some daily supplements too....the will help keep the body's metabolism balanced. there's a lot of other stuff too, and you should talk to your doctor before you do this, especially to see if your body can handle it.

Even diet websites recommend you don't eat less than 800 calories per day without a doctors guidance. It's simply not healthy.

if your like a 5 yr old then yeah but im guessing your not, so in that case NO! Dont do that becuase one, your not gonna lose weight or get healthier by starving yourself from less food in your diet, your metabolism will hit rock bottom and your gonna be very moody.
