Would you like some 40 year old women insulting your 17 Y.O. daughter with classless comments?
Not me...at least wait until she is an adult.

I guess alot of you people are better golfers than you are parents.
The pure cruelty of you all is horrendous, I'm sure you parents and children must be so proud of all of you.

Well if everyone seems to agree that Wie pulled out just to save her eligibility and all are complaining, why doesn't the PGA/LPGA call her out on it and bar her for breaking the rules? If the governing body doesn't cry foul then I don't see why everyone cares. If she is so bad, then that's fine, heck I still give her props to have made more money in one year than all the people who have complained against her on golf boards would make in a lifetime.

She's a "PRO". She made 20 mil alone last year. She knows the rules and so does her father, manager. She wants to play with the big boys (figuratively/literally), she must obey the same rules. Saying that; she should be held accountable and scruntinized for her actions just the same way as any other professional. Her age is irrevelant. She's been playing PRO since she's been 14years old! How much more time does she need to mature? Is she "mature" once she turns 18?
Think about this, she says her wrist hurts and can't continue to play (coincidently close to reaching an 88 score) and she gets better 2 days later is seen practicing. please.
The "game" is a BUSINESS, where millions are involved.
Explain why as a "child" she would choose attending a tourament and not her high school graduation??? -Its because this "game" is a business and WEI KNOWS it. She choosed business over her personal life.
Your stuck in your mind that just becuase she is 17 age she is a child. You can't assume that cause she is young she is emotionally/mentally immature. The opposite same could be said of twenty/thirty year old, too. Just cause there are technically adults dur to age, there mental/emotional capacity is that of an adult.

Annika is argueably the best female golfer of all time. She has earnt the right to say whatever she wants to whomever she wants in the golfing arena.
I thought Michelle Wah Wah was classless for even suggesting that Annika's comments were disrespectful. Who is she to say what is what?
Good on Annika for calling out a golfer who doesnt know her role and should worry less about the injury in her wrist and more about the injury between her ears.
BOO Michelle Wie.

The only low class act around is Wie IMO. Annika was spot on. I think Wie has a history of poor etiquette and lack of respect for the sport.
Wie took a sponsors exemption, played like a dog, was in danger of Rule 88, withdrew citing injury and went to work on her game two days later. Is Annika insulting her? Or is Wie insulting the game?
The 17 year-old excuse is lame. With the people around her, the money she makes from endorsements, she has more responsibility than people think. Heck, never mind responsibility. She should first respect the game. Last year, she got an exemption to play John Deere and withdrew citing Heat Exhaustion (for a girl who grew up in Hawaii!) Disgusting!
EDIT: Wie is a professional (or so she claims!) Being 17 and a "child" does not allow her to behave like a spoiled, unprofessional brat.

Who cares if she is a minor. Golf is golf. Doesn't matter if your 40 or 17. Golf is golf. When you quit because you would have had a terrible round and may be kicked off the tour, people won't appreciate it. Golf throws you everything. Bad and good games. If anything, Anika has the most class. She showed everyone else that Wie is young, immature, and doesn't belong on the tour due to Wie's lack of class.

michelle wie is losing the respect of people everywhere she has withdrawn in two tournaments that I know of and both were because of injuries when she happened to playing bad and then she was perfect that night or next day, she needs to learn to have some class, idc how good she thinks she is or how good she actually is anymore, because there are other female golfers her age or younger that are playing just as good and better, also she needs to just stay on the lpga tour and play on that tour, michelle is too famous for not doing anything, she will never be the female tiger woods

I do not think that Anika should have gone public with the statements. Not because of the age of Wie. I think things should have been handled internally with the LPGA. Wie is not a 17 year old girl. She is playing in an elite group that has rules. She decided to break them.
I believe that both Anika and Wie should be disciplined for violating LPGA rules.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!
If she wants to play with the big girls, she better start acting like a big girl. the LPGA has no room for kids or ANYONE who lacks the maturity and professionalism to participate and belong to an elite women's golf association. Weaseling your way out of a tournament on a technicality is just chicken$#!+.
Anna was fully within her rights as one of the greatest champions of the LPGA to expose Wei as the immature little girl and fraud that she is. I also don't think she was alone in her opinions otherwise there it would be some dissension to her comments. I haven't seen any yet.
The only reason that she even gets on the course is due to sponsor exemptions. I firmly believe that if she tried to Monday qualify that she wouldn't make the cut.

Michelle Wie may be 17, but since she cashes the big fat paychecks, she is open game for critizism. Annika Sorenstam has earned the right to say what she wants about anyone in the LPGA.
Michelle Wie has shown more disrepect to everyone and golf too. Her and her family have made a mockery of women's golf by her act.

Michelle Wie put herself out there. She is easily the most "overhyped" women in sports right now. She is suppossed to be a phenom but cant even win a LPGA tourny let alone making a cut at a PGA event. She deserves it. The 88 rule in my opinion is bogus but regardless of that, you cant just say you are hurt and then be seen hitting balls 2 days later.
