Well, if you look at it on a purely mathematical level then it makes sense. there are many more choices of religions than Christianity. For the purposes of this argument let's say the choices for religion consists of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism. If each person chooses a religion at random then there is a one in five chance of them being Christian. So really, only 20% of the world would be Christian. I realize this makes very little sense, but your question is uninformed and seems based on observation fo a very small group of people. Take a look at the world and realize that there's no single religion that dominates a majority of the world. Every single religion is opposed by MOST people because no religion is believed by 50% of the world.

Many forms of Christianity teach that people who do not believe as they do are wrong and in the past, people were sought out and killed if they did not share all the beliefs and values of Christianity. In response, there are many religions which allow for the peaceful existence of all beliefs that create respect for life and fellow man. It is hard not to accept these religions even if we do not share them because they do not threaten our way of life.
Unfortunately, Christianity has a history of not sharing this peaceful co-existence, even within it's differing denominations. This said, in today's culture which is honoring respect for all walks of life that are non-violent, when the church speaks out against those who are only living their lives without threatening others (for example, the gay and lesbian community, or women who prefer to work and put their children in childcare or not have them at all), the majority of people come to their defense and it makes Christianity look unbending and disrespectful of chosen lifestyles. This is still perceived as judgemental and a threat, and thus the controversy is brought more to light.

I don't think that is exactly true, I guess it depends on where it is being taught. I personally am against Christianity because it is confusing and doesn't make much sense, I also get the feeling that it does not practice what it preaches such as love for ALL men, it is a very unforgiving, especially to gays and the likes. So very intolerant.

rofl. Are you seriously living in this world with the rest of us? Christianity is the most powerful religion in the world. They've oppressed, murdered, and tortured billions of people throughout the last 2000 years. Christianity gets pretty much anything Christianity wants.
But they are starting to lose their hold on the world as the world becomes more free, open minded, and educated.
What you're seeing is the backlash from 2000 years of hell they've put the world through. After 2000 years, anyone would be sick to death of the kind of treatment Christianity has foisted on others.

Possibly because Christianity is based on an event. Since that event, His death and resurrection, has occuredlong before we were here, and since people have manage to interpret and change findings over time, and since our society has predominantly been European, much of the true Christianity has been mistaken and abused. The end result, unfortuantely, has been that Christianity is chided more often than other faiths/lack of's
Christianity teaches that only few will make it only serves the point of this faith having many issues surrounding it seeking to separate those who truly are from those who will wish they were in the end.
If you are concerned about your question beyond this, my advice to you is the continually seek Christ in yor life, and live that seeking as a demonstration of His life in You.
Anyone who disagrees with your belief will, at least, be able to say that you were among the few to live as you believed.
Romans 12: 1-2 for you to read and pray over

I think it's because Christianity teaches that there is ONE God, and the others teach that there are many gods or prophets. Some other religions believe that Jesus was just a man who walked on earth that He is not the Son of God.
I believe that religion is all man-made. I believe that there is only ONE God, and that Jesus is His Son. I'm more of a Relationship with Jesus religion myself :c)

You must not be living in this century or this country to actually say that here, on a public forum.
Christianity should be picked apart when its followers throw it in the faces of others who do not want to hear it or who disagree with it, or when its followers use it as a weapon to keep intelligent people "in line" with what church elders want to them to do or say. Or when they need more volunteers or money.
If so called christians actually acted in a christ like manner and actually cared about the people they preached to, as much as they did about preserving the status quo for themselves--- to set themselves above and apart from others--- then maybe we'd actually listen and think deeply about what christians had to say.
It's as much about the messenger as it is about the message.
Today's christians are doing a horrible job at delivering the message.

Because people have a natural tendency to rebel against God, like children saying "No" to thier parent and spending more time with a favorite aunt or uncle than Mom and Dad.
Christianity is the one true path to "Dad" or God. Like a child who doesnt want to clean his room, he will not listen to that path. People want to follow other religions because they are easier. They dont involve fessing up to your sins and they dont involve an authority figure who will punish you if you are bad.
