CCI makes handgun shot-shells (AKA "snakeshot")
in most popular hand gun calibers: .22LR, .38 S&W Special, 9mm, .44, .45 etc.
Be aware they are only effective at very short range, In my experience 10-15 feet. And they do not provide enough recoil impulse to cycle semi-auto handguns. You have to manually operate the slide between shots.
I think they are best suited to revolvers and single shots.
However I can't imagine they are any better at dealing with snakes than a well place bullet of the same caliber.
In my opinion the best defense against snakes are bite-proof leggings (Cabela's or western outfitters) and a .20ga shotgun with bird loads.

CCI makes them. Depending on the caliber, I've seen 357, 44mag and 22 caliber.
Personally I prefer my 20 guage with 9 shot.

I do. Speer shot capsules with #9 shot and Blue Dot powder for my Ruger in .45 Colt. Not a lot of range, but really kills rats within a few steps of you.

I have used CCI's brand of shot shell in my single shot. They are too long to feed correcrly in my 10/22.

I am sure there are any number of mfgs of same; I always use CCI as that is what the store stocks. It is reasonably priced and works just fine.

CCI makes it, but you can buy components to load it yourself, relatively cheap.
