Unless your wanting a specific breed there is no need to mail a cat. If the breed doesn't matter then stick to kill-shelters or check on craigslist website in your area under pets. FYI to ship a cat most people give them meds so they sleep or its very tramatic for the cat. Either way it's still pretty tramatic for the cat, awake or not.

Mail is not a safe way to have a kitten transported.
If you can not pick the kitten up in person, or have a friend pick it up on your behave you might be able to have the kitten flown to you. Otherwise like closer.
If the breeder of this animal is wanting to mail it you are dealing with an person who cares more about selling this animal than the animal. Do you really think you want to deal with that type of person.

Animals can be shipped via airplane. Most of the time it happens without incident, though there have been cases in which the airlines have lost animals or the animals were injured. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it, but, again, it happens all the time. I would check with the guidelines of a few airlines, though. I know that there are times of the year when pets can't be flown due to temperature extremes. I don't know if there are age or weight restrictions.

Visit your local animal shelter. There are lots of kittens there. And its always better to select ones that you've personally could see and touch. Getting a cat that you do not know, you may never know what you're getting - it could be some sickly little kitten!
I'm sure there are also other alternatives to looking for kittens, such as forums and local animal rescuers. Pay a visit to the kitten first, to be sure you know what you're getting.

You can't mail a live animal legally and no it's not safe. Keep looking for someone reputable, or even better, go adopt a kitten at your local shelter. Go to www.petfinder.com and you'll find lots of kittens.

Get one for free, Both of mine that I have were strays, (but still young, I got both of mine seperately @ around 4 weeks old) and they turned out great. It will save you some money and you won't be getting animals from a puppy or cat mill.

Try checking your local classifieds. Almost ALWAYS they are giving away some kittens to a good home. Call the owner, and go drive to get it : )

I would call the post office and ask details on this. It doesn't sound like a good idea to me AT ALL!
