How many times does this question need to be asked? The answer is most certainly not Rocky Marciano. He is ranked #6 at HW for me, not even top 30-40 P4P. Most overrated boxer ever by these noobs who know nothing about boxing.

The answer is clearly Sugar Ray Robinson, although there are other candidates such as Roberto Duran, Henry Armstrong, Harry Greb, Pernell Whitaker, Willie Pep, Sam Langford, etc.

Tyson best replaced into the final punching boxer ever. A puncher consistently has a wager. i think of Tyson might beat Ali in the event that they fought however the rematch could be close as quickly as Ali adjusted to the certainty that Tyson can one punch all and assorted.

It's too tough of a call because of the different weight divisions and different eras of boxing. Most people would say Ray Robinson, but I'm not sure who it would be. As for Tyson, when he was in his prime (before fighting Douglass) he was a very good fighter, but since then he's been lowered to the level of someone in a circus freakshow.

I don't think, .......I know, ...... it's Sugar Ray Robinson. Given time, pedritorodd might have been right if God would have given Salvador Sanchez more time, he was certainly the best of his era, but tradgy cut his career short. Ali fans have a point, but even Ali gave Sugar Ray Robinson his due. Had Roy Jones Jr. not been exposed as human by Tarver, Roy fans would have had an argument as well, but for the blogbaba, the best ever was Walker Smith Jr..

If you think Tyson is the best at anything then you obviously know nothing about boxing. The G.O.A.T. to me, is a toss-up between Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. Can't go wrong with either.

Salvador Sanchez (1959-1982) from Santiago Tianguistenco Mexico was the WBC Featherweight Champion of the World when he was killed in an early morning accident in August of 1982 in Queretaro Mexico. He had several wins over the likes of Danny Little Red Lopez, Juan LaPorte, Rocky Garcia, Roberto Castanon, Mario Miranda and a young Azumah Nelson. His biggest win was over the supposedly invincible Wilfredo Bazooka Gomez in August of 1981 in which he devastated the WBC 122 lb champ in 8 rounds. Just destroyed him. We never got to see his prime but he was a great technical fighter who could punch with precision and power. What a shame. I still remember crying when I heard on the radio he died. He was my idol. RIP campeon!

When it comes to Tyson you have to ask yourself one thing: Who has he beaten?
The biggest puncher he beat was Razor Ruddick who went toe to toe for 12 rounds with Tyson in their 2nd fight. In Ruddick's next fight he was destroyed by Lennox Lewis in 2 rounds (2 knockdowns in the first). Lost to Holyfield, lost to Lennox (both of which most experts would rank above Tyson)

I say Ali, because of who he beat: Liston, Patterson, Frazier, Foreman, Norton . . .

Pound for pound: Sugar Ray Robinson

the best boxer translates to the skills of the fighter other than punching power; muhummad ali, ray leonard, pernell whitaker, floyd mayweather, wilfred benitez, etc. are prime examples of boxers.
