I know many homosexuals say they are born this way that sexual idenity is determined in the womb, and I am not saying yes or no on that either, as a Christian I can say I really don't know what causes a person to identify in this way, but my question is: When something is not of what we *Traditionally*
have thought was normal, who gets to determine
there behaviour by saying *I am born this way* I have been reading a article on Preists who are pedophiles and All of them say they are *Born this Way* and since many of the preists thought the greater sin was being homosexual than a pedophile because homosexuality is identified in the bible and pedophilia is not, what is your thoughts on this?

Homosexuality is satan's tool, used to confuse the mind. Satan knows that marriage between a man and a woman represents the union between Jesus and his bride--the Church of God. He therefore seeks to destroy God's church by discouraging the institute of marriage (which is between a man and a woman). Since satan is not a sexual being, he has no sexual feelings. Neither does he care if human beings corrupt themselves sexually. As long as our abominable behavior separates men and woman, his purpose is served.

Pedophilia primarily involves men and boys, just as homosexuality primarily involves 2 men. There are, of course female exceptions; but PRIMARILY, both homosexuality and pedophilia exclude females, to the discouragement of marriage. Since the Catholic Church is an imposter, it is only natural that homosexuality would be prevelant in the priesthood. Is not the Vatican overflowing with men, which clearly excludes marriage? And does not the Catholic Church consider itself married to Christ, thereby imitating the Church of God?

With the exception of the Vatican, homosexuality represents something far deeper than most homosexuals understand. They think it's about their sexuality, when that is not the issue at all.

Pedophiles abuse and rape children. Homosexuality between consenting adults is not a sin or crime.

Pedophilia probably is not called out in the Bible because in that day, very young girls were often married off to older men by their fathers. Right or wrong, a husband having sex with his 12-13-14 year old wife was the norm.

In today's world, we understand that children should not be subjected to sexual activities and we know that they are not mature enough to make a decision about consenting to sexual activity. We know the lifelong damage this kind of assault creates.

So, the ones who are saying homosexuality is worse are simply scrambling for excuses for their heinous behavior. They may have been born with the tendencies, but as adults, they know right from wrong, and if nothing else - they know the law.

You’re making a very interesting point.
I believe they probably were “born that way” (the pedophiles I mean), because who would choose to be a pedophile. That doesn’t make pedophilia okay. Homosexuality involves two consenting adults who are both enjoying what they are doing and pedophilia damages and permanently scars a young child (male or female). Perhaps it is just best to forcibly castrate (either physically or chemically) pedophiles. There would be no reason to do this to homosexuals of course.

Everyone has urges to do wrong in some way. For some this includes homosexuality or pedophilia. This doesn't make it right. Particularly in regards to pedophilia saying "I was born this way" is an invalid defense. You could ask "So ever since you were a child, you wanted to have sex with children?" That makes no sense. I can somewhat understand that defense for homosexuals, but come on...

The fact is that celibacy imposed by the church from a man-made tradition has cultivated a clergy class full of sexual deviants. They would claim that the Bible suggests it, so they just went one step further. Which is exactly my point. They impose something that was suggested for people to do IF THEY COULD, and was never meant to be a vow to be taken with anyone. Ministers could marry at any time if they decided to.

Jesus said at Matthew 15:6-9: "And so YOU have made the word of God invalid because of YOUR tradition. YOU hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about YOU, when he said, ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”

I don't know if I would say homosexuals or heterosexuals are born a certain way because I know that as a child, I wouldn't have been able to tell you what an attraction even was. I think as you get older, you realize what you are attracted to. And you choose to follow that attraction. I'm not saying people choose to be gay or straight, I think you just naturally go towards what attracts you.

As far as pedophiles go, they know that no matter what, feeling they way they do about children is wrong. It's disgusting and disgraceful for any adult to be attracted to children and just because the bible doesn't say anything about it, that doesn't make it right.

I for one don't understand how the bible can touch on homosexuality but not say anything about adults raping and hurting children.

I think that the problem is across the board and not just with the priesthood that people love to point out. It is a problem with the idea that homosexuality is perfectly normal to start out with. It is a disorder. From there goes the pedophilia and I don't know it is just my opinion that a 15 year old boy isn't exactly innocent in the way of sex these days. It is not right but it is still there. There was an article of a 15 year old kid in Canada trying to sue for the right to have sex at his age so I think kids have certainly changed. I don't necessarily think it is right but, they are not the innocent kids you would naturally associate pedophilia with.

Personally, I was born a liar and a thief. The subject is not a simple one and I don't believe we know all the answers. One thing I know, Paul the Apostle lists a number of groups of sinners who will not be able to enter the kingdom of God, and one group in that class is homosexuals.
However after listing these he gives this encouraging statement: "and such WERE some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God."
(I Corinthians 6:9-11)

PS. I find it interesting that some who accept the argument of homosexuals that they were "born this way" are not so tolerant when this assertion is made by pedophiles.

Being homosexual (and yes you are just born that way) does not make you a pedophile or even remotely likely to become a pedophile

females are far more likely to be sexually abused than males

Being born a certain way doesn't excuse the RAPE of children. I don't understand why people get so hung up on this issue.

Homosexuality is normal and healthy BECAUSE it doesn't create any victims, because it DOESN'T require an attraction to a person who lacks both the psychological and emotional capacity (and not to mention lacks ANY real world experience) to provide reasoning informed consent.

Pedophilia DOES create victims out of children.

Hang what the Bible says. It's got it backwards. Homosexuality and the act of homosexual intimacy do not in and of themselves create victims. Pedophilia and the act of raping children DO in and of themselves create victims.
