if you think that your depression is mild then one of my suggestions is exercising... it really can help even if it is just walking everyday. I like to lift weights also it can really make you feel destressed... but if you do feel like you are suffering a severe form take it from someone who has been through it you really need to talk to a doctor .. not all depression is enviromental ( from experiences) many forms are chemical and a medication can save your life!! Depression is a disease and don't let anyone tell you that eventually things will get better because if something is imbalanced in you body YOU NEED a doctors help and there is nothing wrong with that:) if you have anymore questions feel freee to email me:)

I have been through a lot of depression and I can tell you anti-depressants are not the answer.
When you're depressed, it's often because something is going wrong in your life, or because you have unresolved feelings that you need to deal with. Sometimes it's neither one. If possible, try and talk it over with someone you trust who will listen to what's bothering you.
It's important to take care of yourself as well. Try exercising, such as taking a 20-30 minute walk each day, that will help you to feel much better. Make sure you get a deep restful sleep each night, don't over sleep or under sleep. You'll have to try different amounts of sleep to find out which works best for you. Don't drink alcohol, caffeine, or smoke in the evening if you do, because those will disturb your sleep. Using too much of any of those will make you depressed, and smoking is very bad for you if you smoke.
Also eat well balanced meals throughout the day, that will help too. It never hurts to take vitamins or to go out and do something fun, that will raise your spirits. Getting some sunlight will help too.
There are many things you can do to feel better, just remember, life is for enjoying, don't let it get you down.

I would utilize your family and friends. If you have people that are close to you then they probablyhave noticed that you are depressed but alot of people don't know how to help. Sometimes, just talking about things can really help. Also, try searching for some depression websites that can give you ideas of things to do to try to pull yourself out. Sometimes, ultimately, you end up at a doctor, which is not necessarily a bad thing, especially if it helps. good luck and keep your head up :)

Become aware of your own self talk and when it's negative, change it. Remember that negative thoughts attract negative thoughts ... and this can lead to fear and anxiety, lack of self confidence and self esteem, depression, illness, disease, and more. It is extremely important to express your feelings and talk about events. This can be done with friends or with a counsellor. Look at the consequences of internalising or pushing down negative feelings.
Examine yourself and make sure to have the following seven factors present in your life.
- good nutrition
- fresh air
- sunshine
- physical activity
- purposeful activity
- good relationships
- adequate and regular sleep

if this is clinical depression i suggest you see the doc. it's not something to play with. you could try vitamins and a very good diet mixed with exercises though. many people learn to cope and how to handle depressive moods by keeping busy and such. some find a hobby that interests then to make themselves feel better. depression takes many forms at varying degrees. if you can't seem to handle this on your own after trying everything else, please check with the doc. good luck.
