making out = kissing over and over again without separating lips much
french kissing = running tongues over each others lips and tongues

hope this helps you explain a little!!!

When I was living abroad I once rang a restaurant to book a table and translated literally into Spanish "I wondwer if you have a table free?". My Spanish work mates all roared with laughter and pointed out to me that we English speakers love to litter our speech with useless meaningless phrases. The fact is that there is no exact way of translating "kind of" sort of" in this context; they mean precisely nothing, even in English, (think about it), and we use them only to hide our embarassment at expressing a wish or request directly. When you are speaking French, forget about "sort of", "kinda" and all the other meaningless phrases that both Brits and Americans pepper our specch with, and say what you mean. That way, you cause a lot less confusion and you'll sound more convincing in French as well. If you want to temper the way you say things, then phrase the sentences properly in English before saying them in French. For "I kind of wanted to watch that film" say "I would have liked to have seen that film" - "J'aurais voulu voir ce film"; As for "I'm kind of getting tired" - what the heck does that mean? - If you're getting tired, say so!!!!! "Je suis fatigué...." or even "J'en ai marre" - "I'm fed up with this!" or "I've had enough of this". Trust me, your French friends won't be nearly as offended by this as you would be if they said the same in English. Part of learning a language is knowing what not to say as well as what to say!!

Sorry sweetie, this is Yahoo Answers, not the "Sex Education Channel". Go ask your mommy. If you had really done it before, you wouldn't need to explain, you'd just show him. I'm not buying into this lie.
