Such a fine example to set for our youth. If you rich and pretty and whine you get to go home and not suffer any discomfort for wrong doing.
If your poor or unattractive and whine you get solitary.
She should still be in jail if only for the good of our children.

HI Whillow!
Great question, I have pondered this some today.
My opinion is that she became hysterical being confined to that little cell. I know prisoners who are first timers have a hell of a time with incarcertion. I practiced law for ten years before changing professions and becoming a teacher, and it was no fun for newbies in jail. It was a eally scary feeling being locked up, it feels like forever to them, and my guess is that Paris either had genuine hysterics or she threw such a fit that it seemed close enough to real health-threatening hysteria that they gave in, of course with some pressure and wheedling n higher up political places. The thing is that the judge perhaps felt he had to save face and send her to jail, and it is often mandatory, and the judge has no choice under the law, other than to incarcerate a person guilty of parole violation. The judge saves face, she goes to jail for 2 days, she gets sick, hysterical, puking, or whatever, and gets out with the agreement to reinstate the original term of the sentence in exchange for her staying home in her fancy mansion.
But of course, the question then becomes, what is the justice in that for a poor black or other minority person who does the exact same thing but who lacks the money and political lung power to get her out? Answer: nada
PS to Whillow, about high school: We are very lucky because we live in the Bay Area which has an Asperger's high school, it is supposedly the only one in the country, although perhaps there are more now (I hope so) but the name of the school is Orion Academy and it is in Moraga CA. They have a terrific website if you want to check it out. Middle school was not a happy experience for him, I know this new school will be so great for him! We are happy!
Bright Blessings!!

Does this really surprise anyone? After all, she served more time than Michelle Rodriguez. The fact of the matter is that there are not enough jail cells to house all the drunk drivers and tax payers are not about to build more jails for non-violent criminals.
One of the few things I like about France is their criminal justice system. Did anyone read "Catch Me if You Can" by Frank Abagnale? The movie with Leo DiCaprio left out the part about him serving six months in a French jail for writing bad checks. They locked him in a room for six months and left him there. Every day he received a loaf of bread, a pitcher of water and an empty bucket. He did not have the right to use the prison legal library nor did he watch cable TV. Keep in mind he wrote bad checks, he was not a serial killer.

The news did not say she had the "sniffles." The extent of the information given was "health reasons." Therefore, we don't know the circumstances surrounding her release, or how necessary it was for her to leave. Until I know the actual facts, I cannot make an informed decision or form an honest opinion.

I truly think the judge was trying to make an example of her...if she were a wealthy person, however, not as well known...she would have gotten off scott-free....that is how our society works.
I do feel there should be stiffer penalties for all criminals, and punshiment should be just, quick and harsh...and equally applied to anyone that breaks the laws.

I'm shocked there isn't a riot going on in that jail right now, or at least a march to the sheriff's office, to be perfectly blunt. You know some poorer and/or darker-skinned women have been serving way more than 100 days for much less of a danger to others, and have been sick once or twice while doing it.

I don;t know if it was the money or the death-threats from the other inmates, but either way, this just makes her less able to learn the lesson of personal responsibility in this lifetime.

it's a bunch of crock. I'm sure the other thousands who are currently incarcerated have had the sniffles too.
