The incest implied in the Adam and Eve story is more than just a taboo - it is a total impossibility.
If the human race started with just two people then it would be biologically impossible to create the genetic variation we see in todays humans.
Furthermore, every human contains at least two masked flaws or mutations in their genes which, when combined with identical flaws in their children would cause them to be unmasked. This would cause death before or shortly after birth in any child so afflicted; lesser mutations would result in deformity or disability. This is the basis of why incest is not permitted in even the most primitive of societies. If such incest had taken place between the descendants of Adam and Eve then the Human Race would have become extinct after just a few generations.
The big mystery is that even though the men that wrote the Bible weren't all that bright compared with most of the people around today, even they must have realised that the Adam and Eve story implied incest sanctioned by god, despite the fact that it would not have been permitted at the time the story was written. So what do we have here...? the implication that incest is ok if god says so? the remaining writings of one or more men who thought that incest was ok? the idea that god is into incest?
Short of repeatedly quoting the Adam and Eve story, I would have thought that the story would be rejected and disowned by most Christians (who I presume do not commit incest, although I could be wrong...)

When Adam had sex with Eve, was that incest too? I mean Eve was made from Adam's rib which would suggest that she was a female clone of him, which would make her the equivalent of his twin sister.
That might explain the evil nature of Cain, he was the product of brother sister incest.
Incest also exists in the story of Lot and his daughters. They're alone in the desert and the daughters grow to an age where they want husbands but there are none available so what to do?
Mummy's not around to offer advice as she was turned into a pillar of salt, so they get daddy drunk and have turns on different nights having sex with him. I'm pretty sure they weren't married either.

Yes, we are all related, and then the great flood killed everyone but Noah's family and the incest started all over again. Lethal gene combination not withstanding, can you really beleive in a 'literal' interpretation of the biblical anthology?? If you do, then here is something else to ponder. I assume you do, as you are using the bible to rationalize something. The priamal couple in the garden of Eden were companions and were not put there to mate. In fact, the notion of modesty (which sparked the fig leaves)showed G; that they had knowledge of good and evil, and they were outed from Eden. That's when they shacked up in the coldwater in Soho and created Cain and Abel. The mystery is where did the women come from??

At that time it wasn't considered incest since the human race had to multiply . The rules for incest started later as you can read in the Bible.Adam and Eve were married by God .To be married is not only a legal contract , is a spiritual contract more than anything.

Good one! Most of the old testament orignated in Egypt where incest was even seen as way to consolidate a family's power and purity.
Little did they know about genetics, but observant people must have finaly figured out that it produced unhealthy results and as a health measure decided to ban it using God as an excuse and enforcement. No separtion between church and state back then.
Identical to the whole "impure" animals in judaism and Islam. We share diseases with pigs and dogs consume human faeces and so doing spread diseases. Indeed good and wise hygene laws, but having little to do with God or spirituality.

The story doesnt end at that point. Adam and Eve were married in the eyes of the Lord, he created them for each other. But their sons who survived, Cain and Seth, had wives which came from a unknown place. I don't believe they were their sisters, as every time in the Bible a man had a sister that played a major role, it was mentioned. I believe it was one of David's sons who was sinful and wanted to sleep with his sister. Like I said, that wasnt right in the eyes of the Lord. So there's not much of an argument for them being their sisters.

Dear Brother
Adam was created by God Himself in Person and later Eve was created so as to keep Adam happy and to free him from loneliness.
It was all the will of God by creating and Adam to multiply the human beings to occupy this world which was already made and kept ready for them.
God himself has conducted their marriage and send them out of the Heaven so that they can have a valid and legal sex in the world and have children.
So , Do not worry my friend my brother, You and me are all legitimate Children . Cheer Up!!!!!!
Now Follow your Grand Grand Parents, do not fornicate and do not produce Illegitimate children.

God formed Eve through Adams ribs, a suitable partner for man, and was given the command 'REPLENISH AND SUBDUE THE EARTH'
The time of Adam and Eve is what we call the time of dispensation of inocence, which means they are acting according to their concience. There was no law pertaining to adultery, fornication etc., The only law that was given to them is mentioned in book of genesis, re-read this book.
Adam and Eve were the only couple where we could say 'Only meant for each other' they are the representative of human race.
After this dispensation, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, God saw how sinful man is and lamented why he created man.
God then destroy man on the face of the earth through another flood which is 'noah's flood' where 8 survivor were listed.
Since then, God made the law for us to follow - this called the dispensation of law. The law on morality, clean and unclean things and so on and so forth.
WE are now living in the dispensation of Grace

Oh, leave Adam and Eve alone. If you want to complain about biblibal incest and fornication, look to Lot and his daughters.
