Can recommend which beach I should visit? I am hoping to find the prettiest, cleanest beach in the area. But I am also looking for things do to at night. Which is better Virginia Beach or Ocean City--- or is there a surrounding beach that is better?

Both places are amazing. Ocean City is more of a crowded, loud, "party" style beach (think High-School Senior Trip). On the other hand, Virginia Beach is much more quiet and relaxing. Both places have great beaches and warm weather (slighty warmer in VA, of course) and will provide you with plenty of activities to do in the evening. A main difference: Ocean City has an actual wooden, beach-side boardwalk, while Virginia Beach only has a cement, street-side "boardwalk". In the end, both are fantastic choices... but personally, I'm a Virginia Beach man. Have fun!!

I just came back from Virginia Beach a couple weeks ago. I went there with my boyfriend for Memorial Day and we stayed at the Atrium Resort. It was fabulous. We were out on the beach during the day, and at night we went out for dinner/dancing on the strip. (I believe it's Pacific Avenue). I would say... go there!
I have been to Ocean City also but I liked Virginia Beach because everything is so compact. We walked everywhere! Have fun on your vacation!

I don't know about Ocean City but Virginia Beach is one of my favorite places to visit. They have everything you could want to do for fun and the beaches are nice.

i am partial because i live near Va Beach. but my hubby is from MD and he would say MD and I would have to agree.
