Are you planning to show or breed?

AKC is a scam?
American Kennel Club, Canadian Kennel Club and United Kennel Club are the only legit Kennel Club registries there are.

OK - first answer was slightly off target and highly insulting. If your dog is a full pedigreed offspring and that litter was registered with the KC (are we talking UK here?) then you should be able to "purchase" your pedigree papers from the KC - but again only with your breeder's consent and assistance.

However, if the litter was not registered with the KC - you are pretty much out of luck.

And in your defense, there are many reasons that someone would want pedigree papers besides "starting a puppy mill". Showing, knowledge, research, and investigating a breeder are just some of those reasons.

AKC is not a scam, but the only way I know that you can get papers is through the breeder.

Generally a litter will be registered and then papers are given out when the pups are sold.

Be sure to contact your breeder and ask about the papers. If the parents wereb't registered, then you may not be able to get papers, even if the breeder claims that they are pure-bred, there'd be no proof.

Good luck!

You can't - unless you bred the dog and both the parents are KC Registered. Only the breeder can register a dog.
You can register a dog on the activities register, but any offspring will not be eligible for full registration

You have to get the registration information for the dog's parents, Then you must register the litter, then you register the individual dogs.
You will have to contact your breeder, and get them to do the litter registration etc for you. You can't register a litter that someone else bred, even if you did buy one of the puppies.

Why was the dog sold/bought without papers?

You can't. If the dog has no papers then the dog has no papers. The parents have to be registered with the AKC and then the litter would had to have ben registered and the breeder of your dog would have given you the registration.
Spay and Neuter.

you cant it is up to the breeder to register him. Why would you really want papers, to be honest unless you are going to breed then it is a waste of money! Breeders and show dogs need these paper, pets dont.

AKc will issue an ILP certificate for a clearly purebred dog who's papers are AOL. It requires pictures of the dog sent in and the spay/neuter certificate.

You'll need to involve and get the consent of the original breeder. AKC is a scam, don't waste your money. And get you're dog fixed. Are you trying to start a puppy mill?
