It's on my left upper arm. The only problem is at my job I have to were the Blazer type uniform, and I'm not sure what I should do. It's not big, I just don't want it to get damaged. Should I cover it with plastic wrap or something? Help please?

I had the same problem when I got one on my hip...my pants were always rubbing on it. I liked using gauze, it's breathable, and it'll keep your clothes from rubbing directly onto the tattoo. They also sell some tape that keeps it on pretty well. I bought it all from Rite Aid. Just make sure you put ointment on it later on!

Do not cover it with plastic! Tattoos need to breathe. It should only be bandaged (with a cotton type bandage) for the first 24 hours. After that it should be under loose clothing or in open air. Since you do not have that option at work, you should let it air out as much as possible outside of work. You need to keep it hydrated also. Get a super gentle lotion to apply to it. Tattoo Goo - http://www.tattoogoo.com/ - is something highly recommended although if you cannot find that locally make sure you use lotion that contains no fragrance, no alcohol, no petroleum, or chlorine. Also don't go swimming in chlorinated pools for about a month. Once the tat scabs over, or starts to heal you should have no problem with it being under your work clothes.

You dont have to cover the tattoo up with plastic wrap just ,make sure you put the ointment on and the blazer doesnt need to be extremely tight around the arm. The tattoo is in your skin and the only way to mess it up is too much sunlight and scratching it.

Don't use plastic wrap, it will keep in any bacteria and might get infected. Keep it moist and wear a t-shirt under your uniform and whatever other shirt you are wearing so you don't get anything on your uniform. If a t-shirt won't cover it then use gauze, but take it off as soon as you can so it has time to breathe.

I work in a fiber glass plant. And I always covered it w/ plastic wrap like you mentioned. It will be ok. Just make sure you clean it properly as much as possible, like during restroom breaks,etc..

Whatever you do don't cover it with plastic wrap all day! It needs to breathe, if you have to cover it at all use an open sided gauze type covering and keep up with your aftercare.

I just got one myself and all I do is put my tattoo goo on it then put on a long sleeve shirt. Plastic wrap is a very bad idea cause it needs air. All you will do is get it infected wraping it up. If at all possible just avoid the sun on it and you will do fine.

After the tat scabs there won't be any problems with it getting damaged by your clothing. Keep the tat clean and whichever ointment your artist recommended on your tat. Don't cover it with plastic - the tat needs to breath to heal.

As long as you keep it moist with lotion you should be fine. If you want, you could put some gauze on it for work, but don't cover it up too much. It needs to breathe.
